Oculus (a term from Latin oculus, meaning 'eye'), may refer to the following

A quest is a journey toward a specific mission or a goal. It serves as a plot device in mythology and fiction: a difficult journey towards a goal, often symbolic or allegorical. Tales of quests figure prominently in the folklore of every nation and ethnic culture. In literature, the object of a quest requires great exertion on the part of the hero, who must overcome many obstacles, typically including much travel. The aspect of travel allows the storyteller to showcase exotic locations and cultures (an objective of the narrative, not of the character). The object of a quest may also have supernatural properties, often leading the protagonist into other worlds and dimensions. The moral of a quest tale often centers on the changed character of the hero.

Reality is the sum or aggregate of all that is real or existent within the universe, as opposed to that which is only imaginary, nonexistent or nonactual. The term is also used to refer to the ontological status of things, indicating their existence. In physical terms, reality is the totality of a system, known and unknown.

Philosophical questions about the nature of reality or existence or being are considered under the rubric of ontology, which is a major branch of metaphysics in the Western philosophical tradition. Ontological questions also feature in diverse branches of philosophy, including the philosophy of science, of religion, of mathematics, and philosophical logic. These include questions about whether only physical objects are real (i.e., physicalism), whether reality is fundamentally immaterial (e.g. idealism), whether hypothetical unobservable entities posited by scientific theories exist, whether a 'God' exists, whether numbers and other abstract objects exist, and whether possible worlds exist. Epistemology is concerned with what can be known or inferred as likely and how, whereby in the modern world emphasis is put on reason, empirical evidence and science as sources and methods to determine or investigate reality.

  • Virtual (horse), a thoroughbred racehorse
  • Virtual channel, a channel designation which differs from that of the actual radio channel (or range of frequencies) on which the signal travels
  • Virtual function, a programming function or method whose behaviour can be overridden within an inheriting class by a function with the same signature
  • Virtual machine, the virtualization of a computer system

  • Virtual memory, a memory management technique that abstracts the memory address space in a computer
  • Virtual particle, a type of short-lived particle of indeterminate mass
  • Virtual reality (virtuality), computer programs with an interface that gives the user the impression that they are physically inside a simulated space
  • Virtual world, a computer-based simulated environment populated by many users who can create a personal avatar, and simultaneously and independently explore the world, participate in its activities and communicate with others

Bought this for my husband for Christmas to add to his game collection. His giggles and laughter when using it makes it worth it. It also has fun workout games, awesome!!!

It has a great selection of games. The only thing I don’t really like is that only the very center of my vision is very sharp. Outside the center just slightly starts making it blurry, more so than my own vision without the VR.

As a child I grew up using viewmaster. Now as an adult Oculus takes it to a whole another level.

What a cool device. Video games sure have come a long way since Pong and Pac-Man. This thing really had me believing I was on a roller coaster, complete with motion sickness and dizziness! But in a good way. It’s so realistic and cool that my whole family has trouble putting it down. I’m speechless! There’s a handful of free games, but most are around $30 each. Keep that in mind. The headset does need to be charged often especially after using it for a while. But all that aside, it’s just the neatest thing ever!

I am loving the VR experience with the “Oc2”. even with never having my own VR before, I can’t totally say it is perfect, but it’s affordable, and a great experience to start my VR world with. The upgraded foam facepiece should be standard, and not have to complain to Oculus to get them more comfortable and sanitary facepiece, but it is still very good. The sound is okay, and should be better, but again, not bad.
