Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is an American multinational corporation and fabless semiconductor company based in Santa Clara, California, that designs, develops, and sells computer processors and related technologies for business and consumer markets.
AMD's main products include microprocessors, motherboard chipsets, embedded processors, and graphics processors for servers, workstations, personal computers, and embedded system applications. The company has also expanded into new markets, such as the data center, gaming, and high-performance computing markets. AMD's processors are used in a wide range of computing devices, including personal computers, servers, laptops, and gaming consoles. While it initially manufactured its own processors, the company later outsourced its manufacturing, after GlobalFoundries was spun off in 2009. Through its Xilinx acquisition in 2022, AMD offers field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products.
AMD was founded in 1969 by Jerry Sanders and a group of other technology professionals. The company's early products were primarily memory chips and other components for computers. In 1975, AMD entered the microprocessor market, competing with Intel, its main rival in the industry. In the early 2000s, it experienced significant growth and success, thanks in part to its strong position in the PC market and the success of its Athlon and Opteron processors. However, the company faced challenges in the late 2000s and early 2010s, as it struggled to keep up with Intel in the race to produce faster and more powerful processors.
In the late 2010s, AMD regained market share by pursuing a penetration pricing strategy and building on the success of its Ryzen processors, which were considerably more competitive with Intel microprocessors in terms of performance while offering attractive pricing.
Mode (Latin: modus meaning "manner, tune, measure, due measure, rhythm, melody") may refer to:
Ryzen (, RY-zən) is a brand of multi-core x86-64 microprocessors designed and marketed by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for desktop, mobile, server, and embedded platforms based on the Zen microarchitecture. It consists of central processing units (CPUs) marketed for mainstream, enthusiast, server, and workstation segments and accelerated processing units (APUs) marketed for mainstream and entry-level segments and embedded systems applications.
A majority of AMD's consumer Ryzen products use the AM4 platform. In August 2017, AMD launched their Ryzen Threadripper line aimed at the enthusiast and workstation markets. Ryzen Threadripper uses different, larger sockets such as TR4, sTRX4, sWRX8, and sTR5 which support additional memory channels and PCI Express lanes. AMD has moved to the new AM5 platform for consumer desktop Ryzen with the release of Zen 4 products in late 2022.
S, or for lowercase, s, is the nineteenth letter of the Latin alphabet, used in the English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and other latin alphabets worldwide. Its name in English is ess (pronounced ), plural esses.
Silver is a chemical element; it has symbol Ag (from Latin argentum 'silver', derived from Proto-Indo-European *h₂erǵ 'shiny, white') and atomic number 47. A soft, white, lustrous transition metal, it exhibits the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and reflectivity of any metal. Silver is found in the Earth's crust in the pure, free elemental form ("native silver"), as an alloy with gold and other metals, and in minerals such as argentite and chlorargyrite. Most silver is produced as a byproduct of copper, gold, lead, and zinc refining.
Silver has long been valued as a precious metal. Silver metal is used in many bullion coins, sometimes alongside gold: while it is more abundant than gold, it is much less abundant as a native metal. Its purity is typically measured on a per-mille basis; a 94%-pure alloy is described as "0.940 fine". As one of the seven metals of antiquity, silver has had an enduring role in most human cultures.
Other than in currency and as an investment medium (coins and bullion), silver is used in solar panels, water filtration, jewellery, ornaments, high-value tableware and utensils (hence the term "silverware"), in electrical contacts and conductors, in specialized mirrors, window coatings, in catalysis of chemical reactions, as a colorant in stained glass, and in specialized confectionery. Its compounds are used in photographic and X-ray film. Dilute solutions of silver nitrate and other silver compounds are used as disinfectants and microbiocides (oligodynamic effect), added to bandages, wound-dressings, catheters, and other medical instruments.

the screen is just the right size for a back pack or brief case. its super light, compact, and faster than the one I was going to buy, I kind of miss swiping like on my phone. I’m going to using this more than my phone for business activities.

A really good entry level laptop. Got it during the sale for $229, cheaper than other places. I booted it up and installed couple of programs that my niece would need for her school work. Also installed Minecraft and it runs decently. Does heat up a bit it’s fine. Display is okay. Full HD so no complaints. Speakers are actually louder than my $600 Dell laptop speakers. Windows 11 is in S mode (means you can only install from MS store, but can be disabled).

This was a surprise birthday gift from my sister and brother-in-law. I’ve been without a laptop since my last one (another HP) kicked the bucket after 4 years. I’ve had it for a week now and the only reason I didn’t give it a 5/5 is 1. it doesn’t have separate number keys on the side… I’m too used to them and I keep having to fix how I type and it throws me off. 2. I can’t move the task bar to the left of the screen. The last two laptops I had I moved the task bar to the left and so I automatically scroll to the left only to remember that it’s at the bottom and it throws me off every time (if anyone can tell me if it’s even possible to move the task bar because I haven’t been able to figure that out even though I did all the personalizations, I just couldn’t move the dang task bar no matter how hard I kept trying to do so). But those are mostly my own personal issues due to habits that I’ve had for years lol. It’s a great laptop so far and HP is my favorite brand (I’ve also had a Dell laptop and don’t even get me started with all the issues I had with the screen on that one. The screens on Dell’s are way too sensitive and shatter way too easily. So I bought an HP after having it for a year and gave the Dell to my mom). So yes, a great laptop (and yes, I have an amazingly sweet sister for buying me one since I haven’t been able to work due to health issues so I couldn’t afford my own).

This is a very convenient small and light computer for a day to day use, with a very affordable price, and HP is a reliable brand.

I couldn’t be more happy with this new laptop. I bought it about 3 days ago and so satisfied with every thing about it. The display isn’t 8K, but it’s pretty darn great! Clear, deep blacks, real good definition. I’m an older guy with reading glasses and this screen is just what I needed. And, talk about a fast boot up time, wow. The SS drive on it is sure quick. I was able to change over to my windows 11 home version on the initial start up. (I really like Win11!) I plugged in my mini usb for my mouse and it linked up immediately. The sound of coarse isn’t Bose quality, but you don’t need any external speaker for it. The 2 speaker sound is really a darn qood quality in watching movies and videos! I charged this up and then left it sit without using it, just being powered on. After 16 hours, it’s still sitting on a 100% charge. Impressive. l was able to buy this on sale for $279 and it’s worth that, and more! A definate high end quality from HP and windows, but in a small footprint.
