MATERIALS & CARE
    • Aluminum Construction: Frontgate uses 100% ingot aluminum, a premium-quality aluminum. The use of very high quality raw aluminum makes our outdoor furniture much stronger and longer lasting, compared to lesser-quality aluminum that becomes brittle over time. Some of our furniture is fully casted, while others use both casted and extruded aluminum parts. The heavier gauge of our aluminum walls (on the extruded parts) also makes Frontgate aluminum furniture a superior quality. On the fully casted pieces, these elements are solid aluminum; the casting also provides great detail, dimension and design. The welds of our furniture use male and female parts, creating a very strong connection.
    • Aluminum Care: Simply use mild soap and lukewarm water to clean your aluminum furniture. This should be done periodically. Avoid using abrasive cleaners. If you live in seaside climates or have a saltwater pool, regular (weekly) cleaning with mild soap and water will greatly help remove the concentrated salt deposits that can lead to finish failure. A fine, clear automobile wax can also be applied for maximum protection against harmful ultraviolet exposure and salt air. We recommend using furniture covers or storing your aluminum furniture indoors when not in use.
    • Cushion Construction: The quality of our outdoor furniture collection cushions is just as superior on the inside as it is on the exterior. We construct each cushion with a high-resiliency foam core wrapped in soft polyester. This excellent grade of polyurethane foam features a higher rebound factor and softer surface for years of consistent comfort and firm support. The cushions are covered with 100% solution-dyed fabrics made in America’s finest textile mills.
  • Cushion Care: Our cushions are crafted to provide years of comfort and performance in a variety of climates and conditions. However, after extended or heavy rain, some water may penetrate into the inner foam core. If your cushions get wet, stand them on end, with the open zipper or seam side down, to help drain the water and speed the drying process. Be sure the cushion’s foam core has completely dried before using.

To clean spills or stains, dilute one cup of chlorine bleach in one gallon of water and test in an inconspicuous area. Saturate a rag or brush in the bleach solution, scrub the entire cushion, rinse well with water, and let the cushions air dry.

Carlisle ( kar-LYLE, locally KAR-lyle; from Cumbric: Caer Luel) is a cathedral city in the ceremonial county of Cumbria in England. It is the administrative centre of Cumberland Council which covers an area similar to the historic county of Cumberland.

Carlisle's early history is marked by the establishment of a human settlement to serve castles along Hadrian's Wall in Britain. Due to its proximity to Scotland (being located eight miles or thirteen kilometres south of the current Anglo-Scottish border), Carlisle Castle and the city became an important military stronghold in the Middle Ages. The castle served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and currently hosts the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. In the early 12th century, a priory was built and gained cathedral status with a diocese in 1133 (city status at the time meant the settlement became a city) while the county of Cumberland was created and later renamed Cumbria.

In the 19th century, the introduction of textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution began a process of socioeconomic transformation in Carlisle, which developed into a densely populated mill town. This, combined with its strategic position, allowed for the development of Carlisle as an important railway town, with seven railway companies sharing Carlisle railway station. Nicknamed the 'Great Border City', Carlisle today is a main cultural, commercial and industrial centre within the British borders.

Finish may refer to:

  • Finishing (whisky), in the distillation of Scotch
  • The aftertaste of an alcoholic beverage, particularly for:
    • wine
  • Finished good, a good that is completed as to manufacturing but not yet sold or distributed to the end-user
  • Surface finishing, various industrial processes for modifying a workpiece's surface
    • Mechanical finish, processes that modify a surface using mechanical means
  • Wood finishing, the process of embellishing and/or protecting the surface of wooden objects

Onyx is the parallel-banded variety of chalcedony, a silicate mineral. Agate and onyx are both varieties of layered chalcedony that differ only in the form of the bands. Onyx has parallel bands, while agate has curved bands. The colors of its bands range from black to almost every color. Specimens of onyx commonly contain bands of black or white or both. Onyx, as a descriptive term, has also been applied to parallel-banded varieties of alabaster, marble, calcite, obsidian, and opal, and misleadingly to materials with contorted banding, such as "cave onyx" and "Mexican onyx".

After agonizing over the perfect outdoor table, we found it in this set. I also purchased 2 swivel chairs and an outdoor rug and pad. We are so happy with our choice. It fits our space and style perfectly, and we love the ability to expand the table, as we often have a crowd.

The rug we ordered was back ordered, which was a bit frustrating, but Frontgate kept us informed and managed our expectations well.

You do get a concierge for an order like this, who acts as your point of contact if you have additional questions, and I am writing this review because I just received a follow up message asking how I like my purchase and reminding me to cover the table for the winter. I am impressed with that kind of service.

It’s still too soon to see how our table holds up in the long term, but it looks very sturdy and I will get out there to cover it as soon as the rain starts in earnest.

Overall, a very good experience and result.

I love the generous size of the table and chairs. The large group I had at the lake for Memorial Day raved about the set. No more high maintenance teak! The metal does get hot if fully sun exposed so I’ll be adding cushions.
