Year 800 (DCCC) was a leap year starting on Wednesday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar, the 800th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 800th year of the 1st millennium, the 100th and last year of the 8th century, and the 1st year of the 800s decade. It was around this time that the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years, so from this time on, the years began to be known as 800 and onwards.

A dishwasher is a machine that is used to clean dishware, cookware, and cutlery automatically. Unlike manual dishwashing, which relies on physical scrubbing to remove soiling, the mechanical dishwasher cleans by spraying hot water, typically between 45 and 75 °C (110 and 170 °F), at the dishes, with lower temperatures of water used for delicate items.

A mix of water and dishwasher detergent is pumped to one or more rotating sprayers, cleaning the dishes with the cleaning mixture. The mixture is recirculated to save water and energy. Often there is a pre-rinse, which may or may not include detergent, and the water is then drained. This is followed by the main wash with fresh water and detergent. Once the wash is finished, the water is drained; more hot water enters the tub by means of an electromechanical solenoid valve, and the rinse cycle(s) begin. After the rinse process finishes, the water is drained again and the dishes are dried using one of several drying methods. Typically a rinse-aid, a chemical to reduce the surface tension of the water, is used to reduce water spots from hard water or other reasons.

In addition to domestic units, industrial dishwashers are available for use in commercial establishments such as hotels and restaurants, where many dishes must be cleaned. Washing is conducted with temperatures of 65–71 °C (149–160 °F) and sanitation is achieved by either the use of a booster heater that will provide an 82 °C (180 °F) "final rinse" temperature or through the use of a chemical sanitizer.

Stainless may refer to:

  • Stainless steel, a corrosion-resistant metal alloy
  • Stainless Games, a British video game developer
  • Stainless Broadcasting Company, a TV broadcaster based in Michigan, US
  • Stainless Banner, the second national flag of the Confederate States of America

Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon with improved strength and fracture resistance compared to other forms of iron. Because of its high tensile strength and low cost, steel is one of the most commonly manufactured materials in the world. Steel is used in buildings, as concrete reinforcing rods, in bridges, infrastructure, tools, ships, trains, cars, bicycles, machines, electrical appliances, furniture, and weapons.

Iron is always the main element in steel, but many other elements may be present or added. Stainless steels, which are resistant to corrosion and oxidation, typically need an additional 11% chromium.

Iron is the base metal of steel. Depending on the temperature, it can take two crystalline forms (allotropic forms): body-centred cubic and face-centred cubic. The interaction of the allotropes of iron with the alloying elements, primarily carbon, gives steel and cast iron their range of unique properties. In pure iron, the crystal structure has relatively little resistance to the iron atoms slipping past one another, and so pure iron is quite ductile, or soft and easily formed. In steel, small amounts of carbon, other elements, and inclusions within the iron act as hardening agents that prevent the movement of dislocations.

The carbon in typical steel alloys may contribute up to 2.14% of its weight. Varying the amount of carbon and many other alloying elements, as well as controlling their chemical and physical makeup in the final steel (either as solute elements, or as precipitated phases), impedes the movement of the dislocations that make pure iron ductile, and thus controls and enhances its qualities. These qualities include the hardness, quenching behaviour, need for annealing, tempering behaviour, yield strength, and tensile strength of the resulting steel. The increase in steel's strength compared to pure iron is possible only by reducing iron's ductility.

Steel was produced in bloomery furnaces for thousands of years, but its large-scale, industrial use began only after more efficient production methods were devised in the 17th century, with the introduction of the blast furnace and production of crucible steel. This was followed by the Bessemer process in England in the mid-19th century, and then by the open-hearth furnace. With the invention of the Bessemer process, a new era of mass-produced steel began. Mild steel replaced wrought iron. The German states were the major steel producers in Europe in the 19th century. American steel production was centered in Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland until the late 20th century.

Further refinements in the process, such as basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS), largely replaced earlier methods by further lowering the cost of production and increasing the quality of the final product. Today more than 1.6 billion tons of steel is produced annually. Modern steel is generally identified by various grades defined by assorted standards organizations. The modern steel industry is one of the largest manufacturing industries in the world, but also one of the most energy and greenhouse gas emission intense industries, contributing 8% of global emissions. However, steel is also very reusable: it is one of the world's most-recycled materials, with a recycling rate of over 60% globally.

I can’t say how much I love my Bosch dishwasher. I had one when we purchased our first house. We upgraded the kitchen and I got a new dishwasher that matched all my appliances and was NEVER happy with it. We just recently purchased and remodeled our forever home and got another Bosch. It is AMAZING! It cleans every dish without having to rinse and it is SO quiet I’ve accidentally opened it while on. I’m training myself to look down for the red light on the floor! You can always get a cheaper dishwasher but it is true , you get what you pay for. 100% satisfied and I’ll NEVER buy anything else other than Bosch.

I was skeptical buying this sight unseen, Covid, I’m glad I did! The cleaning power is amazing! I had a moose punch bowl that had eggnog in it, we dumped out the left over eggnog and left it sitting on the counter for two days, yuck! I didn’t rinse it out before I put it in to see what would happen. It came out sparkling clean along with all my Christmas meal dishes, from huge to small. I cannot believe my ham pan is sparkling clean. This thing is over the top! One of the best features is how it dries. All those items that say hand wash only? Not anymore, put it on the crystal dry setting and everything came out perfect. From my Christmas vacation moose set to my condiment tray to those inexpensive plastic 1.00 Santa plastic plates came out perfect, no melting anything. I’ll post the items that are hand wash only that was put in the dishwasher. This is worth is weight in gold! Now for drying, anything that has a rim that can hold water on top of a cup or whatever of course it’ll have a little standing water because it has no where to drain to. This dishwasher is still shocking to me of what I can put in and have it come out perfect! Thank you Bosch!

Bosch is know for having the quietest dishwasher and this is exceptional. The light that projects on the floor when running is the only way you would know it is on. Very impressive. The loading options are multiple with the third rack and allows for room to load all the dishes and pans that you have after serving dinner to a large crowd. Drying the dishes has always been a challenge but with crystaldry it is a vast improvement. Even plastic cups dry without melting if they are loaded to avoid pooling water. Time will tell how durable it is but with the Bosch reputation it should be in service a long time. My previous Bosch was in service for over 10 years and this has replaced it with the newest features.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased a dish washer that turn out to be marvel of scilent technology! If it didn’t have a red light we wouldn’t know our dishes were being cleaned and sparkling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bosch 800 Series Dishwasher is a spectacular kitchen appliance. First, the installation was easy. We previously had a Bosch dishwasher, so the 800 Series was straight forward to install. Second, the Bosch 800 Series powerfully cleans dishes and leaves them spotless without any residue. After running over a dozen loads of dishes I can confidently say that our dishes come out sparkling and dry. The added Crystal Dry feature ensures a top notch finish. Finally, the red LED light that shines on the floor when’s it’s running is a great feature that Bosch thought of. Honestly when we first ran the dishwasher I had to put my ear up to it just to make sure it was running even though the light was on since it’s so quiet. Definitely recommend the Bosch 800 to anyone.

We just replaced a Bosch dishwasher after 20 years of great service and this one is even better. The crystal dry feature really works. We are delighted in how it dries plastic storage containers, too. It is extremely quiet and the handy red floor light is a great feature to know when it is on. In addition the new third rack is so useful. Couldn’t be happier with our new Bosch!!

So far so good. We’ve had the dishwasher for about 2 months now and use it daily. It does a great job overall. We use the crystal dry setting and almost everything comes out dry. Usually it’s only cups that have a little divot on the bottom that are still wet.
