A raincoat is a waterproof or water-resistant garment worn on the upper body to shield the wearer from rain. The term rain jacket is sometimes used to refer to raincoats with long sleeves that are waist-length. A rain jacket may be combined with a pair of rain pants to make a rainsuit. Rain clothing may also be in one piece, like a boilersuit. Raincoats, like rain ponchos, offer the wearer hands-free protection from the rain and elements; unlike the umbrella.

Modern raincoats are often constructed from waterproof fabrics that are breathable, such as Gore-Tex or Tyvek and DWR-coated nylon. These fabrics and membranes allow water vapor to pass through, allowing the garment to 'breathe' so that the sweat of the wearer can escape. The amount of pouring rain a raincoat can handle is sometimes measured in the unit millimeters, water gauge.

S, or for lowercase, s, is the nineteenth letter of the Latin alphabet, used in the English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and other latin alphabets worldwide. Its name in English is ess (pronounced ), plural esses.

The quality of this coat is outstanding, but I had enough little issues with it to decide to return it. I am 5’3″ size 4 and the fit was true to size. I wish it were about 2″ longer, though. I liked being able to cinch the waist, but the adjustable loops really stuck out of the front of the coat. The other thing that I didn’t care for were the inner cuffs at the wrists, they were a little thick for my comfort. The zipper was difficult to pull up, it seemed to catch instead of gliding.

I am 5’3” tall weigh 145 lbs. Bought the medium. I usually wear petite sizes. This jacket fits perfectly. Nice waist that I can tighten. Zipper a little difficult to pull up and down. High quality fabric and seams. Material feels soft and flexible. Lightweight but warm. Sleeves a little long for me but I can deal with it.

LOVE this jacket! It feels great, and fits really well. The cinched waist provides a nice silhouette. The elastic cuffs also show extra attention to detail.
