1 (one, unit, unity) is a number, numeral, and glyph. It is the first and smallest positive integer of the infinite sequence of natural numbers. This fundamental property has led to its unique uses in other fields, ranging from science to sports, where it commonly denotes the first, leading, or top thing in a group. 1 is the unit of counting or measurement, a determiner for singular nouns, and a gender-neutral pronoun. Historically, the representation of 1 evolved from ancient Sumerian and Babylonian symbols to the modern Arabic numeral.

In mathematics, 1 is the multiplicative identity, meaning that any number multiplied by 1 equals the same number. 1 is by convention not considered a prime number. In digital technology, 1 represents the "on" state in binary code, the foundation of computing. Philosophically, 1 symbolizes the ultimate reality or source of existence in various traditions.

A blender (sometimes called a mixer or liquidiser in British English) is a kitchen and laboratory appliance used to mix, crush, purée or emulsify food and other substances. A stationary blender consists of a blender container with a rotating metal or plastic blade at the bottom, powered by an electric motor that is in the base. Some powerful models can also crush ice and other frozen foods. The newer immersion blender configuration has a motor on top connected by a shaft to a rotating blade at the bottom, which can be used with any container.

A cookbook or cookery book is a kitchen reference containing recipes.

Cookbooks may be general, or may specialize in a particular cuisine or category of food.

Recipes in cookbooks are organized in various ways: by course (appetizer, first course, main course, dessert), by main ingredient, by cooking technique, alphabetically, by region or country, and so on. They may include illustrations of finished dishes and preparation steps; discussions of cooking techniques, advice on kitchen equipment, ingredients, tips, and substitutions; historical and cultural notes; and so on.

Cookbooks may be written by individual authors, who may be chefs, cooking teachers, or other food writers; they may be written by collectives; or they may be anonymous. They may be addressed to home cooks, to professional restaurant cooks, to institutional cooks, or to more specialized audiences.

Some cookbooks are didactic, with detailed recipes addressed to beginners or people learning to cook particular dishes or cuisines; others are simple aide-memoires, which may document the composition of a dish or even precise measurements, but not detailed techniques.

In kinematics, the speed (commonly referred to as v) of an object is the magnitude of the change of its position over time or the magnitude of the change of its position per unit of time; it is thus a non-negative scalar quantity. The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero. Speed is the magnitude of velocity (a vector), which indicates additionally the direction of motion.

Speed has the dimensions of distance divided by time. The SI unit of speed is the metre per second (m/s), but the most common unit of speed in everyday usage is the kilometre per hour (km/h) or, in the US and the UK, miles per hour (mph). For air and marine travel, the knot is commonly used.

The fastest possible speed at which energy or information can travel, according to special relativity, is the speed of light in vacuum c = 299792458 metres per second (approximately 1079000000 km/h or 671000000 mph). Matter cannot quite reach the speed of light, as this would require an infinite amount of energy. In relativity physics, the concept of rapidity replaces the classical idea of speed.

Variable may refer to:

  • Variable (computer science), a symbolic name associated with a value and whose associated value may be changed
  • Variable (mathematics), a symbol that represents a quantity in a mathematical expression, as used in many sciences
  • Variable (research), a logical set of attributes
  • Variable star, a type of astronomical star
  • "The Variable", an episode of the television series Lost

I bought this exact Vitamix 2 years ago from QVC. It is an investment for sure. We had a Ninja which is a nice machine as well. The Ninja just didn’t really get smoothies “smooth and silky”. The Vitamix was well worth the investment. I love the fixed blades versus the Ninjas very sharp and dangerous removable blade. Vitamix clean up is a snap. Warm water, dish soap, blend and rinse.

I’ve had many different models of Vitamix over the last 15 years…I get newer models and gift the old ones. This model is a favorite of mine. Love the power for making smoothies, soup, ice cream, chopping, blending and you name it! It’s fun to use and easy to clean. The Vitamix company stands behind their products, too. I have a healthier diet because of this machine. I am a big fan!

Yes, these are pricey! Are they worth it, you ask?! YES!! This thing is amazing. I use it every day to make smoothies for my husband, my 14 month old and myself. You will never have a truly SMOOTHie unless you’re using this machine. Our smoothies are like silk. This machine breaks down all ingredients! I use all frozen fruits and veggies, as well as seeds (chia, hemp etc), and the smoothies has no “bite” to them. With all of my other blenders, they never broke down the ice or ingredients. I ALWAYS ended up with giant frozen chunks of ice and food, and the seeds were never ground. I want to drink my smoothies, not have to chew them. This things is amazing!! I actually enjoy making as drinking smoothies now, and I know my family is getting the nutrients they need. This is a investment piece for your kitchen that you’ll have for a long time.

I really thought I’d use this more than I do, but the handful of times I have used it, it has been nice! Easy clean up for sure. Looks great in my kitchen too.

This does it all. Best purchase. I use it every day and most days several times per day. Never a problem. Makes excellent whip cream, smoothies, hot soup, etc. Better then they say it is.
