A classic is an outstanding example of a particular style; something of lasting worth or with a timeless quality; of the first or highest quality, class, or rank – something that exemplifies its class. The word can be an adjective (a classic car) or a noun (a classic of English literature). It denotes a particular quality in art, architecture, literature, design, technology, or other cultural artifacts. In commerce, products are named 'classic' to denote a long-standing popular version or model, to distinguish it from a newer variety. Classic is used to describe many major, long-standing sporting events. Colloquially, an everyday occurrence (e.g. a joke or mishap) may be described in some dialects of English as 'an absolute classic'.

"Classic" should not be confused with classical, which refers specifically to certain cultural styles, especially in music and architecture: styles generally taking inspiration from the Classical tradition, hence classicism.

Shearling is a skin from a recently shorn sheep or lamb that has been tanned and dressed with the wool left on. It has a suede surface on one side and a clipped fur surface on the other. The suede side is usually worn outward. Real shearling breathes and is more flexible, much heavier and the fur is much denser than synthetic. Synthetic shearling fur is typically called sherpa. Synthetic or fake shearling has a bit of a sheen to its outer side, while real shearling outer hide is dull and a bit tacky to the touch. Genuine shearling is also smoother to the touch than synthetic shearling.

Tasman most often refers to Abel Tasman (1603–1659), Dutch explorer.

Very warm, fit well. I don’t care for the beige tag showing through the seam.

These are great gloves, but I underestimated the fact that the shearling would make the gloves fit smaller than usual. Reluctantly returned them.

Very lush & luxurious. Keeps hands very warm in 19° New York temperature (not normal temps for us)! Felt a little snug on first wear, by 2nd-3rd wear, they started to loosen up a bit. The glove part that covers the hands loosened up, cuff still a little bit of wiggling required to get them on, but not a deal breaker. Color is accurate, according to my Note9 smartphone, a “stormy” sort of light grey (would also be neutral enough to wear with tan/beige tones). Can’t believe I paid $155 retail for a purple pair, just slightly taller than these with the same fur cuff, last January! They haven’t even fully broken in yet after 4 or 5 wears… I’m very happy with these! I’m supposed to wear gloves, due to severely dry hands, that are borderline eczema. But gloves tend to frustrate me when driving or almost anything. But for the beauty of these, I’ll rock them!
