A bra, short for brassiere or brassière (US: , UK: ; French: [bʁasjɛʁ]), is a form-fitting underwear that is primarily used to support and cover a woman's breasts. A typical bra consists of a chest band that wraps around the torso, supporting two breast cups that are held in place by shoulder straps. A bra usually fastens in the back, using a hook and eye fastener, although bras are available in a large range of styles and sizes, including front-fastening and backless designs. Some bras are designed for specific functions, such as nursing bras to facilitate breastfeeding or sports bras to minimize discomfort during exercise.
Although women in ancient Greece and Rome wore garments to support their breasts, the first modern bra is attributed to 19-year-old Mary Phelps Jacob who created the garment in 1913 by using two handkerchiefs and some ribbon. After patenting her design in 1914, she briefly manufactured bras at a two-woman factory in Boston, Massachusetts before selling her patent to the Warner Brothers Corset Company, which began mass-producing the garment. The bra gained widespread adoption during the first half of the twentieth century, when it largely replaced the corset. The majority of Western women today wear bras, with a minority choosing to go braless. Bra manufacturing and retailing are key components of the multi-billion-dollar global lingerie industry.
A strap, sometimes also called strop, is an elongated flap or ribbon, usually of leather or other flexible materials.
Thin straps are used as part of clothing or baggage, or bedding such as a sleeping bag. See for example spaghetti strap, shoulder strap. A strap differs from a belt mainly in that a strap is usually integral to the item of clothing; either can be used in combination with buckles.
Straps are also used as fasteners to attach, secure, carry, or bind items, to objects, animals (for example a saddle on a horse) and people (for example a watch on a wrist), or even to tie down people and animals, as on an apparatus for corporal punishment. Occasionally a strap is specified after what it binds or holds, e.g. chin strap. Webbing is a particular type of strap that is a strong fabric woven as a flat strip or tube that is also often used in place of rope. Modern webbing is typically made from exceptionally high-strength material and is used in automobile seat belts, furniture manufacturing, transportation, towing, military uniform, cargo fasteners, and many other fields.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I sleep in this thing now because it’s so so comfy! So soft, moves with me, I don’t even realize it’s on most of the time. The only downside, it’s not the prettiest thing. It does keep shape but over all it’s not super flattering. But I keep wearing it bc of the comfort!

I received this a few weeks ago and I’ve been wearing it almost every day. I love how comfortable and supportive it is. I’ve also worn it to bed a couple nights and it wasn’t uncomfortable or tight to where it made me want to take it off. I definitely love the comfortability and recommend. I will be getting for my daughter’s too.

I love this bra! Is comfortable, soft. Snug but doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Holds everything in place. The straps are adjustable, and also comfortable. The color is a bright pink. It has removable pads, easy to take out. the fit is a full coverage just how I like it!

I love the material and the color. It was very comfortable to wear all day, and I felt it provided adequate support and lift even without underwires or padding. It doesn’t leave dents in my skin and I am pleasantly surprised about not having to readjust it the entire day.
