A paddle is a handheld tool with an elongated handle and a flat, widened end (the blade) used as a lever to apply force onto the bladed end. It most commonly describes a completely handheld tool used to propel a human-powered watercraft by pushing water in a direction opposite to the direction of travel (i.e. paddling). A paddle is different from an oar (which can be similar in shape and perform the same function via rowing) – an oar is attached to the watercraft via a fulcrum.
The term "paddle" can also be used to describe objects of similar shapes or functions:
- A rotating set of paddle boards known as a paddle wheel is used to propel a steamboat or paddle steamer.
- In a number of racquet sports (e.g. ping-pong and paddle ball), a "paddle" or "bat" is a short, solid racket used to strike a ball.
- A mixing paddle is a device used to stir or mix separate ingredients within a mixture.
- A spanking paddle is used in corporal punishment, typically to forcefully hit someone (e.g. a juvenile) on the buttocks.

Easy to unpack looks nice with a soft deck and gloss finish at the noise. It performed well in flat and choppy water little harder to control in 2 to 4 foot waves but accelerate well in downwind. Bungees cords in front and back to carry gear.overall just nice and got great comments from many.

I am an intermediate paddler and was looking for a board that was stable for both the ocean and the harbor. I paddle 3-4x a week in the summer and 1-2x a week in the winter. I LOVE this board. I didn’t realize how awesome the hands free option was until I had it. I love putting my paddle in and being able to drink my water, stretch my shoulders and have a snack not worrying about the paddle rolling into the water. The shoulder strap, oh em gee! Absolutely amazing. The quality of the board is phenomenal, all my friends that tested it out, loved how soft the cushions are. The graphics are so awesome, folks are always asking if it’s an inflatable. I purchased this board without ever testing one out since I am in southern California and the closest retailer is 7 hours away. It was worth the risk. I can see myself using this board for years to come. Stop debating and buy it. Shipping was fast and customer service was exceptional.

Just bought the Traveler 14′ hard shell and love it really quick, but also stable. The Bote product has been superb…we previously purchased the HD inflatable and HD hard shell which are great boards and used by the family. Love the Bote product and highly recommend. Thanks again for the great customer service!

This board is a true beauty. I spent a lot of time researching boards. I was looking for something with touring speed but also could handle the ocean an intercostal waters. This board is great for both. It cuts through choppy water really well. Got caught in some high winds first time out and was able to make it back with ease.
