A treadmill is a device generally used for walking, running, or climbing while staying in the same place. Treadmills were introduced before the development of powered machines to harness the power of animals or humans to do work, often a type of mill operated by a person or animal treading the steps of a treadwheel to grind grain. In later times, treadmills were used as punishment devices for people sentenced to hard labour in prisons. The terms treadmill and treadwheel were used interchangeably for the power and punishment mechanisms.
More recently, treadmills have instead been used as exercise machines for running or walking in one place. Rather than the user powering a mill, the device provides a moving platform with a wide conveyor belt driven by an electric motor or a flywheel. The belt moves to the rear, requiring the user to walk or run at a speed matching the belt. The rate at which the belt moves is the rate of walking or running. Thus, the speed of running may be controlled and measured. The more expensive, heavy-duty versions are motor-driven (usually by an electric motor). The simpler, lighter, and less expensive versions passively resist the motion, moving only when walkers push the belt with their feet. The latter are known as manual treadmills.
Treadmills continue to be the biggest-selling exercise equipment category by a large margin. As a result, the treadmill industry has hundreds of manufacturers throughout the world.

First of all about me, I’m a fairly new below knee amputee, I purchased this to build up my walking ability, I like the slow speed 0.8kph start speed, then you can slowly increase speed, so far up to 4.6 kph. It is big and heavy, it will not hide in a corner. but highly recommend.

Great treadmill. Purchased this during lockdown for sprints after HIIT workouts and for brisk indoor walks. Easily stored out of the way when not in use by folding down the screen down to the belt. Top speed of 13km which is a decent sprint speed even for seasoned runners.

Well packed, although 2 bottle of lubricant was leaking so need to get my own now. Very easy to assemble did it on my own. Running every day for about an hour, working fine. So far so good. Well worth it the price.

Very sturdy treadmill. Excellent quality for the price. It weighs 50-60kg but comes fully assembled. Another review mentioned a permanent slight incline, but there’s fold out rear feet so it’s flat. Easy to fold away, just one handle to pull, has wheels & feet so it can be stored upright or flat. Very easy to use screen/display, literally plug in & go. I just wish it had a cup holder for a water bottle! I have had static shock from metal parts so would recommend an anti-static mat underneath.

I love this treadmill – I bought as I wanted to run a mile a day and it is well worth it’s money – It was easy to set up – I love how it folds down because anybody coming to visit do not notice it tucked away. One thing I would point out this treadmill is built on a incline at all times – but it’s not that bad.

Great treadmill and really easy to set up. It’s really just a lift clip into place and plug in. Took us about 8 minutes. Works well – impressed.

This was really easy to set up but kind of heavy so you might need help initially. I hoped it might store sideways but it’s not recommended so it takes up the same floor space whether it’s is folded or not. It also runs fairly quietly. The only thing is that I find it’s not very wide if you are used to the big treadmills at the gym, so I have to be more alert to the sides when running. Overall, good quality, money well spent.
