A crop is a plant that can be grown and harvested extensively for profit or subsistence. In other words, a crop is a plant or plant product that is grown for a specific purpose such as food, fibre, or fuel.

When plants of the same species are cultivated in rows or other systematic arrangements, it is called crop field or crop cultivation.

Most crops are harvested as food for humans or fodder for livestock.

Important non-food crops include horticulture, floriculture, and industrial crops. Horticulture crops include plants used for other crops (e.g. fruit trees). Floriculture crops include bedding plants, houseplants, flowering garden and pot plants, cut cultivated greens, and cut flowers. Industrial crops are produced for clothing (fiber crops e.g. cotton), biofuel (energy crops, algae fuel), or medicine (medicinal plants).

Flies are insects of the order Diptera, the name being derived from the Greek δι- di- "two", and πτερόν pteron "wing". Insects of this order use only a single pair of wings to fly, the hindwings having evolved into advanced mechanosensory organs known as halteres, which act as high-speed sensors of rotational movement and allow dipterans to perform advanced aerobatics. Diptera is a large order containing more than 150,000 species including horse-flies, crane flies, hoverflies, mosquitoes and others.

Flies have a mobile head, with a pair of large compound eyes, and mouthparts designed for piercing and sucking (mosquitoes, black flies and robber flies), or for lapping and sucking in the other groups. Their wing arrangement gives them great manoeuvrability in flight, and claws and pads on their feet enable them to cling to smooth surfaces. Flies undergo complete metamorphosis; the eggs are often laid on the larval food-source and the larvae, which lack true limbs, develop in a protected environment, often inside their food source. Other species are ovoviviparous, opportunistically depositing hatched or hatching larvae instead of eggs on carrion, dung, decaying material, or open wounds of mammals. The pupa is a tough capsule from which the adult emerges when ready to do so; flies mostly have short lives as adults.

Diptera is one of the major insect orders and of considerable ecological and human importance. Flies are major pollinators, second only to the bees and their Hymenopteran relatives. Flies may have been among the evolutionarily earliest pollinators responsible for early plant pollination. Fruit flies are used as model organisms in research, but less benignly, mosquitoes are vectors for malaria, dengue, West Nile fever, yellow fever, encephalitis, and other infectious diseases; and houseflies, commensal with humans all over the world, spread foodborne illnesses. Flies can be annoyances especially in some parts of the world where they can occur in large numbers, buzzing and settling on the skin or eyes to bite or seek fluids. Larger flies such as tsetse flies and screwworms cause significant economic harm to cattle. Blowfly larvae, known as gentles, and other dipteran larvae, known more generally as maggots, are used as fishing bait, as food for carnivorous animals, and in medicine in debridement, to clean wounds.

Glad to see they are in stock. I don’t like the high rise stretch. Please also offer non-woven materials.

I saw that they brought these back so I went into the store to try to look for them and the sale associates weren’t even aware they brought them back as they didn’t have them in store. I ordered this online instead. I’m 4’11 usually a 4 but sized down to a 2. These mid-rise crop on the fly pant is the perfect fit and hits right at my ankles. Comfortable to wear, can dress it up or down! Lulu, please do not discontinue these again and make more colours please! 🙂

I was really sad to see OTF pants phased out, as I’m too short (5’, 120 lbs) for the high rise pants that are mostly what Lulu is selling these days. I was thrilled to see the crop OTF offered again,, so bought them again. Please, Lulu, think about your shorter clientele where the high rise pants just don’t fit well at all. Please bring back the OTF, this is a pant line that has always received great reviews!

I really like these joggers. I thought the fit was near perfect and the material is so smooth. The only thing I don’t love is the length. I just feel it hits me at an awkward part of my legs. Not quite my calves but not my ankle either- so I just roll them up a little. Other than that, I love these!

These are a weird fit compared to my other on the fly crops. I realize that they are different material but I wish I would have sized up. The pants are nice but it’s a fail on my end.

Very comfy. The drawstring is little annoying which sticks out under a tight top.
