Breathing (spiration or ventilation) is the rhythmical process of moving air into (inhalation) and out of (exhalation) the lungs to facilitate gas exchange with the internal environment, mostly to flush out carbon dioxide and bring in oxygen.

All aerobic creatures need oxygen for cellular respiration, which extracts energy from the reaction of oxygen with molecules derived from food and produces carbon dioxide as a waste product. Breathing, or external respiration, brings air into the lungs where gas exchange takes place in the alveoli through diffusion. The body's circulatory system transports these gases to and from the cells, where cellular respiration takes place.

The breathing of all vertebrates with lungs consists of repetitive cycles of inhalation and exhalation through a highly branched system of tubes or airways which lead from the nose to the alveoli. The number of respiratory cycles per minute is the breathing or respiratory rate, and is one of the four primary vital signs of life. Under normal conditions the breathing depth and rate is automatically, and unconsciously, controlled by several homeostatic mechanisms which keep the partial pressures of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the arterial blood constant. Keeping the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the arterial blood unchanged under a wide variety of physiological circumstances, contributes significantly to tight control of the pH of the extracellular fluids (ECF). Over-breathing (hyperventilation) increases the arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide, causing a rise in the pH of the ECF. Under-breathing (hypoventilation), on the other hand, decreases the arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide and lowers the pH of the ECF. Both cause distressing symptoms.

Breathing has other important functions. It provides a mechanism for speech, laughter and similar expressions of the emotions. It is also used for reflexes such as yawning, coughing and sneezing. Animals that cannot thermoregulate by perspiration, because they lack sufficient sweat glands, may lose heat by evaporation through panting.

Miku may refer to Miku Hatsune (初音 ミク), a virtual singer. It may also refer to:

Pro is an abbreviation meaning "professional".

Pro, PRO or variants thereof might also refer to:

Sleep is a state of reduced mental and physical activity in which consciousness is altered and certain sensory activity is inhibited. During sleep, there is a marked decrease in muscle activity and interactions with the surrounding environment. While sleep differs from wakefulness in terms of the ability to react to stimuli, it still involves active brain patterns, making it more reactive than a coma or disorders of consciousness.

Sleep occurs in repeating periods, during which the body alternates between two distinct modes: REM and non-REM sleep. Although REM stands for "rapid eye movement", this mode of sleep has many other aspects, including virtual paralysis of the body. Dreams are a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.

During sleep, most of the body's systems are in an anabolic state, helping to restore the immune, nervous, skeletal, and muscular systems; these are vital processes that maintain mood, memory, and cognitive function, and play a large role in the function of the endocrine and immune systems. The internal circadian clock promotes sleep daily at night, when it is dark. The diverse purposes and mechanisms of sleep are the subject of substantial ongoing research. Sleep is a highly conserved behavior across animal evolution, likely going back hundreds of millions of years.

Humans may suffer from various sleep disorders, including dyssomnias, such as insomnia, hypersomnia, narcolepsy, and sleep apnea; parasomnias, such as sleepwalking and rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder; bruxism; and circadian rhythm sleep disorders. The use of artificial light has substantially altered humanity's sleep patterns. Common sources of artificial light include outdoor lighting and the screens of electronic devices such as smartphones and televisions, which emit large amounts of blue light, a form of light typically associated with daytime. This disrupts the release of the hormone melatonin needed to regulate the sleep cycle.

Smart may refer to a high level of intelligence or "street smarts".

"Smart" or SMART may also refer to the following.

I bought this monitor just over a week ago and am blown away by it. The picture is so crisp and clear. I love all the features and options it has to offer! I love having access to viewing the monitor from my phone too. The monitor was shipped and arrived very quickly which saved us. We even took it on a road trip with us! Highly recommend this monitor!

I’ve been using for a week now and liking it more and more . Definitely takes some time to get used to so give it a while I’m sure I’ll even like it more next week. Sometimes the connection can be poor but that all depends on the wifi you have.

Just received our Miku Pro last week. Delivery was quick and the packaging is sleek.
We opened the box and delved into all the equipment and features. Absolutely love the great picture quality, that it tracks the sleep patterns and baby’s breathing, as well as the convenience of it all being available right on our phone. There does seem to be a few delays when opening the app. Might be a wifi connection but we’ll play with it. We are super happy and excited to get this monitor mounted and installed in the nursery. This camera is going to alleviate so much anxiety as first time parents.

We love using the MIKU. We also travel with it and it’s super easy to set up and pair with our phones and the image quality is so good. It’s nice that it’s widescreen too. We use the camera as is with no stand or wall install and its great.

The product arrived very quickly after ordering. From handling the product, it is clear it is very well-made. It is SOLID, unlike many lightweight cheap plastic baby monitors. It comes with everything you need (including a screwdriver!) to wall-mount it. The instruction booklet is very simple and easy to follow. I love the idea of being able to check in on our baby anywhere, anytime, thanks to the app. It gives me peace of mind to know how baby is sleeping when out on a quick errand. Customer service is very responsive and helpful.

We loved our original Miku so much that when it was time to get one for our parents house we decided to upgrade to the Miku Pro. It has all of the same great features as the original but has better image quality and wifi range. It also has better audio quality which is great when baby is talking. You can’t go wrong with this monitor it has been a life saver. My parents also love it and find it very easy to use which is a HUGE plus!!! Don’t hesitate to purchase!
