Most air conditioners have a single air temperature and turn off and on to cool a room to a set temperature. This Midea discharges colder air when the temperature is set below 68 degrees.

This air conditioner works very well. Definitely a step up from out old one. We have a sizeable master bed with 18ft ceilings and this unit cools it faster than id ever imagagine. My only suggestion is covering the exhaust vent with some sort of mesh. I covered it with fiberglass screen from home depot to keep small animals and insects out of the exhaust tube.
