Marlin® Automatic California Dial 40mm Leather Strap Watch – TW2U83300ZV

The Timex Marlin Automatic California Dial draws inspiration from vintage watches made during the 1930s and ’40s that were refinished by a California-based watchmaker in the 1970s and ’80s, a shop that specialized in the split Arabic and Roman-numeral dials.

I had been looking for a California dial watch for quite some time. I was surprised and excited when Timex introduced the Automatic California Dial watch. I have a 1968 self-winding Marlin (not picture), a couple of character watches, and recently gifted a 1966 Mercury (birth year). I am excited for Timex to honor their watch-making heritage while introducing retro styles with a modern twist.

When I saw the Timex with the California dial I had to have it. The Timex rose gold is a fantastic looking watch, every time I look at the dial I smile. If it was not automatic I may not have purchased it. So far it is keeping good time and operating as I expected it to. The leather strap is very comfortable maybe a bit longer than I would like. The packaging and the watch box was definitely a surprise far better than I expected. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is a quality watch. It keeps perfect time and you don’t have to worry about changing a battery. The strap is durable yet supple on your wrist. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

I love this watch it looks good and works well. I just don’t love the strap and the movement is a little noisy at times. Neither of these are real problems, but I’ll take a star for it.

The salmon dial pops in person. I switched straps with my blue Wolfpoint watch. Movement isn’t load all the time, just when you move your wrist. Great automatic.
