What it is: A gentle way to slough away dead skin to reveal a fresh, smooth complexion

WHY IT’S SPECIAL:

  • Unlike physical scrubs, Solution uses a 10% blend of skincare acids to “unglue” dead skin and sweep it away, so your complexion appears smoother, softer, and glowier
  • Includes three acid groups: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA)
  • Daily use helps improve the appearance of blemishes, visible redness, and enlarged pores

The face is the front of an animal's head that features the eyes, nose and mouth, and through which animals express many of their emotions. The face is crucial for human identity, and damage such as scarring or developmental deformities may affect the psyche adversely.

Glossier is a beauty brand founded by Emily Weiss in 2014. It started as an online-only company, building on the popularity of the beauty blog "Into the Gloss". Glossier was one of the first direct-to-consumer beauty companies when it launched in 2014, and has grown to over 10 retail locations in addition to global distribution in Sephora, SpaceNK, and Mecca. The brand's products span skincare, makeup, bodycare, fragrance, and merch.

Skin is the layer of usually soft, flexible outer tissue covering the body of a vertebrate animal, with three main functions: protection, regulation, and sensation.

Other animal coverings, such as the arthropod exoskeleton, have different developmental origin, structure and chemical composition. The adjective cutaneous means "of the skin" (from Latin cutis 'skin'). In mammals, the skin is an organ of the integumentary system made up of multiple layers of ectodermal tissue and guards the underlying muscles, bones, ligaments, and internal organs. Skin of a different nature exists in amphibians, reptiles, and birds. Skin (including cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues) plays crucial roles in formation, structure, and function of extraskeletal apparatus such as horns of bovids (e.g., cattle) and rhinos, cervids' antlers, giraffids' ossicones, armadillos' osteoderm, and os penis/os clitoris.

All mammals have some hair on their skin, even marine mammals like whales, dolphins, and porpoises that appear to be hairless. The skin interfaces with the environment and is the first line of defense from external factors. For example, the skin plays a key role in protecting the body against pathogens and excessive water loss. Its other functions are insulation, temperature regulation, sensation, and the production of vitamin D folates. Severely damaged skin may heal by forming scar tissue. This is sometimes discoloured and depigmented. The thickness of skin also varies from location to location on an organism. In humans, for example, the skin located under the eyes and around the eyelids is the thinnest skin on the body at 0.5 mm thick and is one of the first areas to show signs of aging such as "crows feet" and wrinkles. The skin on the palms and the soles of the feet is the thickest skin on the body at 4 mm thick. The speed and quality of wound healing in skin is promoted by estrogen.

Fur is dense hair. Primarily, fur augments the insulation the skin provides but can also serve as a secondary sexual characteristic or as camouflage. On some animals, the skin is very hard and thick and can be processed to create leather. Reptiles and most fish have hard protective scales on their skin for protection, and birds have hard feathers, all made of tough beta-keratins. Amphibian skin is not a strong barrier, especially regarding the passage of chemicals via skin, and is often subject to osmosis and diffusive forces. For example, a frog sitting in an anesthetic solution would be sedated quickly as the chemical diffuses through its skin. Amphibian skin plays key roles in everyday survival and their ability to exploit a wide range of habitats and ecological conditions.

On 11 January 2024, biologists reported the discovery of the oldest known skin, fossilized about 289 million years ago, and possibly the skin from an ancient reptile.

This product might not be for everyone, I use it only once or twice at week because my skit is really sensitive. I LOVE the results of my skin after using this product, I am buying my second bottle right now.

I had bought this product before, but never used i consistently. Finally did. Started with one application a day. Now I use it morning and night, and I am so impressed. Impressed enough to write a review because I rarely do this. I had this same spot of hormonal acne on my chin/cheek that would come back every month, AND IT DID NOT COME BACK THIS PAST MONTH. The first time in a long time. And my acne scars seemed calmed down and slowly are reducing. But I am just so stoked. Like I’ve had no new zits on my face for two weeks !!! That’s wild for me. Even if it wasn’t the hormonal spot on my cheek, I’d always get something somewhere without fail. I am shocked. I’m also using the glossier retinol and I think it’s working well together <3

I am on my third bottle of this now, it has made a significant difference in the texture of my skin! My skin feels nice and smooth pores don’t seem as Noticeable and neither do fine lines.

I have rosacea and VERY dry skin. Most products I’ve used to help with my dry skin irritate my rosacea. This is a game-changer – I don’t think my skin has ever felt this soft and smooth, and it doesn’t cause extra redness. I can’t recommend it enough.

This product has completely changed my skin in the best way! My skin tends to be on the dry side and my T zone can get a little oily. I typically get breakouts in that area and around my chin, and this exfoliator has really helped with those breakouts. I was worried about it over-drying my skin but after the first couple weeks of use, I stopped noticing any dryness that moisturizer can’t fix. Overall my skin is brighter and those little dark spots I get after breakouts have significantly reduced. I still get some breakouts but they’re not as widespread or as severe. Sometimes I use it as a spot treatment by gently pressing down on the pump and soaking up the liquid with a Q tip, so I like the versatility. This product has helped me increase my confidence! Will definitely be purchasing again once I run out.

I am so beyond impressed with this chemical exfoliator!!! I’ve always used chemical exfoliators because I know that physical exfoliants can be damaging on the skin, but none of the ones I’ve used have changed my skin as much as this!! I have combo skin with very dry cheeks and a very oily t zone that is prone to acne and clogged pores. I have lots of redness and uneven texture. This has helped me so much with all of these problems, so much more than my go-to $90 Drunk Elephant exfoliator!!! Plus it’s so much cheaper and the amount is so much that it lasts forever!!! I am a complete believer now and I am 100% converting to this product for the rest of my foreseeable future. I’ve started off using this product super slowly and it’s already made such an incredible difference so I can’t imagine how much progress I’ll see after using it everyday for months!!! Thank you Glossier for such a life saving product!!!!
