More Info. & Price

The EnduRun from DKN is the brand’s top of the range machine treadmill. A premium machine, designed for serious runners, it’s powered by a commercial grade 2.5 HP Continuous duty (4.5 HP peak) AC motor. This motor smoothly and easily drives the belt all the way up to the top speed of 22kph (13.7mph) which is more than enough for the fastest of sprints and the incline range of 0-15% makes the machine versatile and very well suited to those whose primary goal is weight loss. The oversized running deck is very spacious measuring 53cm (21″) by 151cm (60″) and the finely tuned cushioning system absorbs heel impact whilst providing a firmer surface to push off from. All essential workout feedback is provided on the console via brilliant white LED displays. A great range of built-in programmes include 18 pre-set ones which are designed by a certified personal trainer and the machine has a bluetooth module built-in to allow it to be paired with a phone or tablet and controlled by the Kinomap app.

A treadmill is a device generally used for walking, running, or climbing while staying in the same place. Treadmills were introduced before the development of powered machines to harness the power of animals or humans to do work, often a type of mill operated by a person or animal treading the steps of a treadwheel to grind grain. In later times, treadmills were used as punishment devices for people sentenced to hard labour in prisons. The terms treadmill and treadwheel were used interchangeably for the power and punishment mechanisms.

More recently, treadmills have instead been used as exercise machines for running or walking in one place. Rather than the user powering a mill, the device provides a moving platform with a wide conveyor belt driven by an electric motor or a flywheel. The belt moves to the rear, requiring the user to walk or run at a speed matching the belt. The rate at which the belt moves is the rate of walking or running. Thus, the speed of running may be controlled and measured. The more expensive, heavy-duty versions are motor-driven (usually by an electric motor). The simpler, lighter, and less expensive versions passively resist the motion, moving only when walkers push the belt with their feet. The latter are known as manual treadmills.

Treadmills continue to be the biggest-selling exercise equipment category by a large margin. As a result, the treadmill industry has hundreds of manufacturers throughout the world.

Make no mistake this is a gym standard piece of kit. It’s solidly built and heavy duty. I went for it specifically for its high speed (22kph) so I could do my HIIT sessions over the winter and it hasn’t disappointed feeing super stable even at top speed. The arm controls make it very easy to change the speed and incline as you run. Yes it’s expensive for a home machine but I think worth every penny. As they say you get what you pay for. Thoroughly recommended if you’re serious about running.

Easily Gym Quality treadmill. Very sturdy, doesn’t budge an inch while at full speed. Top speeds and inclines are way above my current training level (which is great) and the running surface feels steady and expansive. Only downside for me is the speakers are tinny when using an (admittedly cheap) USB-C to Aux converter cable from my phone, so I just use my phone speaker or headphones instead of the built-in speakers, but at the end of the day, it’s a treadmill not a sound system. Very much worth the price and I enjoy running on it.

Solid build. Works well. No vibration on running and good surface to run on with comfort. Plenty of programmes but I usually use my own work out. Speakers sound a little tinny but reasonable

Very happy with this treadmill. It feels solid and the running deck is a good size. Mainly using this for ‘speedwork’ and this treadmill easily handles speeds of 15 km/h or more. Only thing is that it takes a bit longer to reach your desired speed than a commercial treadmill, but would expect this anyway from a smaller motor! Not a complaint – just to point it out. In terms of assembly, it is recommended you have 2 people. However, I live alone and with the lockdown etc, I decided to give it a go on my own. Luckily, the delivery guys had laid it down on my floor so the deck was flat and the correct way up. I don’t think I would have attempted the build alone otherwise, as the package is far too heavy to move/turn on your own. I ripped off the cardboard around the top and sides and built it in the box. The most challenging part was that all the other parts are under the deck in the box, so you have to lift the deck to slide them out. The deck is heavy, but if you are careful, you can manage on your own (I’m a 5’7 55kg female and not particularly strong!!). Definitely not recommending this, but it can be done. Ensure to raise from the back of the deck though, and not at the front where the motor is. Once I had freed all the bits from the box, assembly was easy – the instructions are really clear. I’ve also been able to move it on its wheels in the folded position on my own also.
