Year 338 (CCCXXXVIII) was a common year starting on Sunday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Ursus and Polemius (or, less frequently, year 1091 Ab urbe condita). The denomination 338 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.

A champion (from the late Latin campio) is the victor in a challenge, contest or competition. There can be a territorial pyramid of championships, e.g. local, regional/provincial/state, national, continental and world championships, and even further (artificial) divisions at one or more of these levels, as in association football. Their champions can be accordingly styled, e.g. national champion, world champion.
Equipment most commonly refers to a set of tools or other objects commonly used to achieve a particular objective. Different jobs require different kinds of equipment.
Gas is one of the four fundamental states of matter. The others are solid, liquid, and plasma. A pure gas may be made up of individual atoms (e.g. a noble gas like neon), elemental molecules made from one type of atom (e.g. oxygen), or compound molecules made from a variety of atoms (e.g. carbon dioxide). A gas mixture, such as air, contains a variety of pure gases. What distinguishes gases from liquids and solids is the vast separation of the individual gas particles. This separation usually makes a colorless gas invisible to the human observer.
The gaseous state of matter occurs between the liquid and plasma states, the latter of which provides the upper-temperature boundary for gases. Bounding the lower end of the temperature scale lie degenerative quantum gases which are gaining increasing attention. High-density atomic gases super-cooled to very low temperatures are classified by their statistical behavior as either Bose gases or Fermi gases. For a comprehensive listing of these exotic states of matter, see list of states of matter.
Horizontal may refer to:
- Horizontal plane, in astronomy, geography, geometry and other sciences and contexts

Ton is any of several units of measure of mass, volume or force. It has a long history and has acquired several meanings and uses.
As a unit of mass, ton can mean:
- the long ton, which is 2,240 pounds (1,016.0 kilograms)
- the short ton, which is 2,000 pounds (907.2 kilograms)
- the tonne, also called the metric ton, which is 1,000 kilograms (about 2,204.6 pounds) or 1 megagram.
Its original use as a unit of volume has continued in the capacity of cargo ships and in units such as the freight ton and a number of other units, ranging from 35 to 100 cubic feet (0.99 to 2.83 m3) in size. Recent specialized uses include the ton as a means of truck classification. It can also be used as a unit of energy, or in refrigeration as a unit of power, sometimes called a ton of refrigeration.
Because the ton (of any system of measuring weight) is usually the heaviest unit named in colloquial speech, its name also has figurative uses, singular and plural, informally meaning a large amount or quantity, or to a great degree, as in "There's a ton of bees in this hive," "We have tons of homework," and "I love you a ton."
Vertical is a geometric term of location which may refer to:
- Vertical direction, the direction aligned with the direction of the force of gravity, up or down
- Vertical (angles), a pair of angles opposite each other, formed by two intersecting straight lines that form an "X"
- Vertical (music), a musical interval where the two notes sound simultaneously
- "Vertical", a type of wine tasting in which different vintages of the same wine type from the same winery are tasted
- Vertical Aerospace, stylised as "Vertical", British aerospace manufacturer
- Vertical kilometer, a discipline of skyrunning
- Vertical market, a market in which vendors offer goods and services specific to an industry
- Vertical integration, a management term describing a style of ownership and control
With or WITH may refer to:
- With, a preposition in English
- Carl Johannes With (1877–1923), Danish doctor and arachnologist
- With (character), a character in D. N. Angel
- With (novel), a novel by Donald Harrington
- With (album), a 2014 album by TVXQ
- With (EP), a 2021 EP by Nam Woo-hyun
Wood is a structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees and other woody plants. It is an organic material – a natural composite of cellulose fibers that are strong in tension and embedded in a matrix of lignin that resists compression. Wood is sometimes defined as only the secondary xylem in the stems of trees, or more broadly to include the same type of tissue elsewhere, such as in the roots of trees or shrubs. In a living tree it performs a support function, enabling woody plants to grow large or to stand up by themselves. It also conveys water and nutrients between the leaves, other growing tissues, and the roots. Wood may also refer to other plant materials with comparable properties, and to material engineered from wood, woodchips, or fiber.
Wood has been used for thousands of years for fuel, as a construction material, for making tools and weapons, furniture and paper. More recently it emerged as a feedstock for the production of purified cellulose and its derivatives, such as cellophane and cellulose acetate.
As of 2020, the growing stock of forests worldwide was about 557 billion cubic meters. As an abundant, carbon-neutral renewable resource, woody materials have been of intense interest as a source of renewable energy. In 2008, approximately 3.97 billion cubic meters of wood were harvested. Dominant uses were for furniture and building construction.
Wood is scientifically studied and researched through the discipline of wood science, which was initiated since the beginning of the 20th century.

I’m not sure who came up with the 12″ max log diameter, but I’ve split some monster logs with my 25 ton running it vertical. Nothing stops this thing, and the cycle time of the ram is faster than the 35+ ton machines. This thing is a work horse…..one if the better machines that I own.
by Mike
Built it by myself in my garage after the Delivery support Man, assisted and gave it to me in sections out of the crate. “BIG CRATE” Takes time, balance, and Gravity. Get that pivot bolt in place, and your good! Put your mind to it and you can do it all by yourself. Just don’t have anything around that the I-Beam/Ram can crash down on, and your good. This machine is awesome !!!! started up on the 1st pull. You can have it assembled at the store? But I saved doing it myself and didn’t have to do anything but order it online to be delivered to my place. Plus, I now know what/ where/ how, all the section work.

Very quick recoil and the trays are very nice for holding logs between splitting!
by Shane
Absolutely easy to use and has plenty of power for knotty logs.
by Jon
Works well, but the beam is slightly wobbly and a bit hard to lock in the vertical position.
by Mikey
Works excellent, easy to start.
by Burke
Assembly was easy-good instruction manual. Splitter works great on huge Live Oak logs. Easy to operate but could be a little quieter. You definitely need hearing protection. Overall, a great workhorse that has handled whatever I put in it.
