What to Expect: Results Timeline Using Capillus Laser Caps
Keep in mind that it takes time for hair to grow. You will not notice results immediately as it takes time to restore follicle health and then for the new strands of hair to grow. For a general timeline of what to expect. We recommend you take pictures of your scalp before you begin treatment so you can effectively keep track of results.
The CapillusPro™ has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration by a 510(k) for the treatment of androgenic alopecia (AGA) and promotion of hair growth in males who have Norwood Hamilton classifications of IIa-V patterns of hair loss; and in females who have Ludwig (Savin) Scale Class I through Class II or frontal patterns of hair loss; and both genders having Fitzpatrick Skin Types I to IV.
Shaded classifications below have been cleared by the US Food & Drug Administration for use of Capillus laser devices.
Fitzpatrick Classification of Skin Types: Low level laser therapy has only been tested on following Fitzpatrick skin types: TYPE 1: Highly sensitive, always burns, never tans. TYPE 2: Very sun sensitive, burns easily, tans minimally. TYPE 3: Sun sensitive skin, sometimes burns, slowly tans to light brown. TYPE 4: Minimally sun sensitive, burns minimally, always tans to moderate brown. Low level laser therapy has NOT been clinically tested on following Fitzpatrick skin types: TYPE 5: Sun insensitive skin, rarely burns, tans well. TYPE 6: Sun insensitive, never burns, deeply pigmented. LLLT at 650 nm and <5mW has never had any reported adverse effects for ANY skin tone, including the darkest of skin tones.
Regulatory Compliance:
Capillus, LLC lasers comply with 21 CFR 1040 for Class 3R Laser Products as administered by the Center for Device and Radiological Health of the US Food and Drug Administration and standard IEC60825 of the International Electrotechnical Commission.
Usage:
The CapillusPro should be used every day. The total time of each session is 6 minutes. Exceeding the recommended times or frequency will not increase the effect of the CapillusPro; and may in fact cause a negative effect. Do not exceed recommended usage.
Precautions:
- Laser therapy should not be used in conjunction with medications or products that are photosensitizing.
- Consult with your physician before using the CapillusPro if; you have cancer of the scalp; you are sensitive to light of 650 nm in wavelength.

A cap is a flat headgear, usually with a visor. Caps have crowns that fit very close to the head. They made their first appearance as early as 3200 BC. The origin of the word "cap" comes from the Old French word "chapeau" which means "head covering". Over time, the word has evolved and changed its meaning, but it still retains its association with headwear. Caps typically have a visor, or no brim at all. They are popular in casual and informal settings, and are seen in sports and fashion. They are typically designed for warmth, and often incorporate a visor to block sunlight from the eyes. They come in many shapes, sizes, and are of different brands. Baseball caps are one of the most common types of cap.
Hair is a protein filament that grows from follicles found in the dermis. Hair is one of the defining characteristics of mammals. The human body, apart from areas of glabrous skin, is covered in follicles which produce thick terminal and fine vellus hair. Most common interest in hair is focused on hair growth, hair types, and hair care, but hair is also an important biomaterial primarily composed of protein, notably alpha-keratin.
Attitudes towards different forms of hair, such as hairstyles and hair removal, vary widely across different cultures and historical periods, but it is often used to indicate a person's personal beliefs or social position, such as their age, gender, or religion.
A laser is a device that emits light through a process of optical amplification based on the stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. The word laser is an anacronym that originated as an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. The first laser was built in 1960 by Theodore Maiman at Hughes Research Laboratories, based on theoretical work by Charles H. Townes and Arthur Leonard Schawlow.
A laser differs from other sources of light in that it emits light that is coherent. Spatial coherence allows a laser to be focused to a tight spot, enabling applications such as optical communication, laser cutting, and lithography. It also allows a laser beam to stay narrow over great distances (collimation), a feature used in applications such as laser pointers, lidar, and free-space optical communication. Lasers can also have high temporal coherence, which permits them to emit light with a very narrow frequency spectrum. Temporal coherence can also be used to produce ultrashort pulses of light with a broad spectrum but durations as short as an attosecond.
Lasers are used in optical disc drives, laser printers, barcode scanners, DNA sequencing instruments, fiber-optic and free-space optical communications, semiconductor chip manufacturing (photolithography, etching), laser surgery and skin treatments, cutting and welding materials, military and law enforcement devices for marking targets and measuring range and speed, and in laser lighting displays for entertainment. Semiconductor lasers in the blue to near-UV have also been used in place of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to excite fluorescence as a white light source; this permits a much smaller emitting area due to the much greater radiance of a laser and avoids the droop suffered by LEDs; such devices are already used in some car headlamps.

I was skeptical about spending the money too, but I’m glad I did. I started using the cap the end of February 2021. I didn’t really notice much of a change until 8 months in, but then it was like I sprouted little hairs all over the front of my scalp. Then they started growing. People would ask if I did something different and I was happy to share my story with them. Even my barber noticed because I hadn’t seen her in three months. My wife thinks it’s great. It’s really very simple. I get up make a cup of coffee and put my cap on will I peruse the news online. In six minutes the cap turns itself off and I’m done. In eleven months I’ve only missed 3 days. It’s just part of my morning routine. If I could change anything about it, I would put a stronger connector where the charger plugs into the cap. Mine is frayed and will need to be replaced soon. But that’s the only thing I would change. If your on the fence, it really does work. All you supply is the diligence and patience.

I am a female and experienced gradual hair loss on top of my head over 10 years. I added the Capillus Pro to my regimen and definitely saw regrowth – first around the front, then the rest of the top. It didn’t bring all of my hair back, but brought a lot back. Mine is the older version with the flashing lights. I’ve been using it without fail since 2015 and am certain of its’ value.

I have been using it religiously for the past year since I received it. It has give me a full head of hair again. I was start to thin pretty badly in the crown and it turn that right around this past 10 months. Amazing!
