Light, visible light, or visible radiation is electromagnetic radiation that can be perceived by the human eye. Visible light spans the visible spectrum and is usually defined as having wavelengths in the range of 400–700 nanometres (nm), corresponding to frequencies of 750–420 terahertz. The visible band sits adjacent to the infrared (with longer wavelengths and lower frequencies) and the ultraviolet (with shorter wavelengths and higher frequencies), called collectively optical radiation.
In physics, the term "light" may refer more broadly to electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength, whether visible or not. In this sense, gamma rays, X-rays, microwaves and radio waves are also light. The primary properties of light are intensity, propagation direction, frequency or wavelength spectrum, and polarization. Its speed in vacuum, 299792458 m/s, is one of the fundamental constants of nature. All electromagnetic radiation exhibits some properties of both particles and waves. Single, massless elementary particles, or quanta, of light called photons can be detected with specialized equipment; phenomena like interference are described by waves. Most everyday interactions with light can be understood using geometrical optics; quantum optics, is an important research area in modern physics.
The main source of natural light on Earth is the Sun. Historically, another important source of light for humans has been fire, from ancient campfires to modern kerosene lamps. With the development of electric lights and power systems, electric lighting has effectively replaced firelight.

I purchased two of these shades. Needed advice on choosing the correct color after receiving samples. Customer service was very helpful with all my questions regarding measurements as well. Very high quality and easy install according to my husband. They are a perfect fit and just light filtering enough without being able to see in. Will definitely purchase from Blinds galore again. Their brand surpassed Levolor brand I had in the past. And much easier to install.

I’ve ordered these for my open living/dining/kitchen ares. They let in light while removing glare on the TV during the day and they provide privacy at night. I’ve ordered three of these with the SmoothLift Cordless opening option for our window door wall and LOVE this opening option. I ordered four of these with the Rechargeable Motorized option and the NEO hub. The automated opening and closing of the shades feature is a great idea however, these batteries are only lasting me around 2 weeks per charge, I have not found a manual override for the lift feature so if the batteries are dead the blind is stuck. I’ve also tried installing a solar charger and it does not work at all on my south facing San Diego windows (they are Low-E so the window panels may not let in enough UV to allow the solar panels to charge). I’m frustrated with these and wishing that I had ordered them all with the SmoothLift Cordless opening instead. Prior to ordering these, I ordered the same motorized shades in the Blackout version and those batteries are lasting around a month per charge with the same open once and close once per day cycle. I have no idea why. My windows were deep enough for me to install Blindsgalore® Envision Solar Shades behind these so we have options to almost block out everything in the day by having both shades down, let in light and remove glare by using the Light Filtering shade alone, or to enjoy our Sunny San Diego sky while avoiding overheating the house by using the solar shades alone.
