Recently purchased and finished assembly this past weekend. Myself and a friend were about to complete 95% of the installation by ourselves, when it came to lifting the roof we needed two extra people to help. It took in total about 2 days (9-10hrs) to complete. I am pretty handy as well as my friend, however this was the first gazebo we had put together. I’ve listed some tips below:

    1) Thoroughly read all instructions. The amount of different hardware can be daunting as well as making sure the pilot holes, orientations and nuts/bolts are installed correctly, however if you take the time to review the instructions of each step before you begin the installation is not difficult at all.

    2) Preassemble the roof onto the rafters completely without screwing down first. The instructions tell you to lay each steel panel one at a time, screwing each one down as you go, however the first time we did this we came out uneven and out of alignment on the last panel that was installed. We then took each screw back out, laid out all of the panels and then screwed them together. Make sure you also have the rafters square for this process.

    3) I’d suggest tightening all bolts with the torx adapter provided with a drill, and then once assembly is finished completely coming back and tightening everything fully by hand. This will prevent any wood splintering as well as having a little bit of ‘play’ in each board for final assembly.

    4) Installing the roof was the most difficult part. We had 4 people total, 2 on a ladder, one in the middle helping to lift and 1 on a ladder in the middle of the gazebo. The issue we found is that due to the splice on the end rafters that make up the peak of the roof, they bow significantly as each roof section is installed. Once both roof sections were installed and bolted together as well as the stiffeners installed they snugged up pretty nicely, however on each end by the 6″x6″ post on the trusses there is still a slight gap on each end. This does not matter in the end since the ridge cap covers this up, however aesthetically it is slightly noticeable. I really wish the rafters did not have splices in them to give more structural integrity and prevent this issue, but overall its not too bad once fully tightened.

    5) If you are installing on a sloped concrete patio as I was, I’d recommend measuring and either trimming or shimming one side of the 6″x6″ posts to make it level. I had the gazebo installed up to the point of the trusses and decided to trim the two back posts to make it level. This was easy with a reciprocating saw and the cuts dont have to be perfect as the anchor plates cover the majority of the post bottoms. In hindsight I may have laid these out and measure the difference first, then make the cuts, then install to make things a little easier.

    6) The 6″x6″ posts are hollow except for the top 12″ or so that have a wood filler piece. As shown in the photo, I mounted sconces to each post to for some ambient lighting at night. I drilled a 1/2″ hole in the middle of each wood filler piece at the top of the post and ran low voltage lighting cable through the post to each sconce so it was hidden.

    7) Reference the 3D Built instructions as needed. For the majority of the install I utilized the hard copy installation instructions provided, however I did reference the 3D Built instructions at times to make sure bolt/lumber orientations were correct.

    8) I really liked the fact that you dont have to access the roof for any of the roof installation, all can be completed by a 6′ ladder.

We have an electrician scheduled to come out in a couple weeks to install electrical for a ceiling fan, TV and some convenience receptacles throughout. I installed some 3/4″ conduits stubbing up behind the back posts for this which worked out great as they are hidden behind the posts at the dimensions shown on the drawings. I wish the gazebo had a true support beam in the middle to be able to directly attach a ceiling fan, however we will have to make a wood frame/brace instead for more structural support.

All in all the gazebo was very easy to install and I would suggest it for any cable DIY’er as long as you have 2-3 days set aside. It saved me $500 and gave me piece of mind that it was installed correctly per the instructions and everything was properly torqued. We cant wait to get outside to enjoy our patio more and have a large entertaining space now.

Love this Gazebo because of its rustic design of walnut stain cedar and dark hardware. When the packages it was a little intimidating, but the instructions were very easy to follow which made a seamless process. We built everything together except when it came time to put the tin roof up, we needed one more person to help lift it. Great quality. It has been a perfect place for my whole family to gather for BBQ. It looks beautiful and I have had so many compliments on it. We love it and are enjoying our covered patio!!

This is my backyard vacation spot. I have a hammock in the gazebo and I lay there with a piña colada in my hand and I feel like I’m on retirement, (even though I still have 22 more years to go).

Bought from Sams. Delivered by Sams delivery service. Called phone number on product packaging for assembly. All went like clockwork.

Great space to hang out with family or friends, rain or shine.

Really enjoy your product, price was right, the quality is excellent. We shopped a lot for a Gazebo to place on our patio, knowing it will always be pleasing to the eye. Everyone enjoys the look and feel.

Thank You! It is just what we were looking for.
