Arcade1Up is a computer hardware production company that specializes in the production of working 3/4 scale arcade video games using modern components and emulation.

A game is a structured type of play, usually undertaken for entertainment or fun, and sometimes used as an educational tool. Many games are also considered to be work (such as professional players of spectator sports or games) or art (such as jigsaw puzzles or games involving an artistic layout such as Mahjong, solitaire, or some video games).

Games are sometimes played purely for enjoyment, sometimes for achievement or reward as well. They can be played alone, in teams, or online; by amateurs or by professionals. The players may have an audience of non-players, such as when people are entertained by watching a chess championship. On the other hand, players in a game may constitute their own audience as they take their turn to play. Often, part of the entertainment for children playing a game is deciding who is part of their audience and who is a player. A toy and a game are not the same. Toys generally allow for unrestricted play whereas games present rules for the player to follow.

Key components of games are goals, rules, challenge, and interaction. Games generally involve mental or physical stimulation, and often both. Many games help develop practical skills, serve as a form of exercise, or otherwise perform an educational, simulational, or psychological role.

Attested as early as 2600 BC, games are a universal part of human experience and present in all cultures. The Royal Game of Ur, Senet, and Mancala are some of the oldest known games.

A machine is a physical system that uses power to apply forces and control movement to perform an action. The term is commonly applied to artificial devices, such as those employing engines or motors, but also to natural biological macromolecules, such as molecular machines. Machines can be driven by animals and people, by natural forces such as wind and water, and by chemical, thermal, or electrical power, and include a system of mechanisms that shape the actuator input to achieve a specific application of output forces and movement. They can also include computers and sensors that monitor performance and plan movement, often called mechanical systems.

Renaissance natural philosophers identified six simple machines which were the elementary devices that put a load into motion, and calculated the ratio of output force to input force, known today as mechanical advantage.

Modern machines are complex systems that consist of structural elements, mechanisms and control components and include interfaces for convenient use. Examples include: a wide range of vehicles, such as trains, automobiles, boats and airplanes; appliances in the home and office, including computers, building air handling and water handling systems; as well as farm machinery, machine tools and factory automation systems and robots.

Previously bought and returned the giant joystick. With that said, I really wanted a arcade game, this fits the bill and more!! Very sturdy, just the right size to make it convenient to keep around in the family room. Easy to use and love all the “old time” games again. Thank you QVC for bringing this to us, and best of all, it works just like it’s supposed to!!!! Happy Happy Camper here!

Do not buy here. HSN has got this same exact unit, but in yellow outside, for $80 LESS!
The SAME UNIT! ‘Sister’ companies, yet this big of a difference? Come on QVC, make this right!

We bought the Street Fighter and the Pac Man. While we are claiming we bought them for our grandkids, they haven’t even seen them yet, and we’re having fun with them ourselves. I’m sure my adult kids will love these when they come to visit as well. We’re going to mount them on the wall this weekend to create an arcade area in our gameroom. We bought the matching stools as well (also great), so we just upped our grandparent game significantly!

I purchased the street fighter for my father. He’s 72 and his jaw dropped when he saw this on the table waiting for him. He loves it. We love that he loves it. And we are all grateful for the volume control!

Get you one. I just got this today. It’s for my classroom. And because my own kids spend so much time up here with me. It’s a hit and I just know my students will work for time on this thing.

Just received two street fighters today. Nicely packed. Love the way they look. The plastic screen saver was a little hard to get off. Probably use them table top. Very good quality. I tried them both and they worked great. My 2 grandsons are going to be very happy at Christmas if I can wait that long. Great price!
