THE LATEST INNOVATIONS TO ALIENWARE CRYO-TECH™ TECHNOLOGY
Killer cooling technology: Game faster and for longer periods of time thanks to Element 31*, an industry-first and Alienware-exclusive encapsulated gallium-silicone thermal interface material. Offering a 25% improvement in thermal resistance*, Element 31 works more efficiently than previous solutions pulling heat away from the CPU with double the energy storage capability over the previous generation*. Element 31 will slow down in double the time that it would normally take the CPU temperatures to increase by 45oC*. Indirectly, total system temperatures will benefit from this environment as well.
Four is better than one: Introducing Alienware’s quad fan technology, a patent-pending industry exclusive included in our X-Series laptops. This new design includes a combination of standard evacuative fans which move air through the system as well as, patented, dual opposite outlet (DOO) fan which move air through the chassis and over various internal hotspots creating a pressurized environment that dissipates heat and reduces external temperatures. Each fan is intelligently controlled and uniquely programmed to function individually to meet the desired equilibrium of cooling. This helps your system maintain optimized airflow and internal chassis pressure for better performance.
Intelligent quad airflow: Game with confidence and rest assured that your system is being intelligently cooled according to your type of gameplay and its thermal requirements. Each of the four fans independently functions to regulate and control system surface temperatures, CPU and GPU. Plus, each fan can independently spin-up, slow down, or remain steady according to your system’s needs, prioritizing movement of the fans that are positioned to enable the best benefit for your system.
Tailored power: Like an engine’s transmission, gamers can set, activate and manage five unique power states through the Alienware Command Center with this exclusive, patent-pending technology. These five power states are determined through a set of sensors and variables throughout your system’s CPU and GPU circuits. Depending on your needs, you can choose from Performance Mode, Balanced Mode, Battery Saver Mode, Quiet Mode and Full Speed Mode, which can also be toggled outside of Alienware Command Center using FN+F1.
Total control: The Thermal Control Circuit Offset is a feature that can be set within the BIOS if you choose to set a “cruise control” limit to your CPU temperature. This gives you the power and peace of mind to manage your CPU temperature within a safe limit you deem comfortable for everyday use. If you don’t like to tinker with your system, then you can game with the default setting set by Intel.

A laptop computer or notebook computer, also known as a laptop or notebook, is a small, portable personal computer (PC). Laptops typically have a clamshell form factor with a flat-panel screen on the inside of the upper lid and an alphanumeric keyboard and pointing device on the inside of the lower lid. Most of the computer's internal hardware is fitted inside the lower lid enclosure under the keyboard, although many modern laptops have a built-in webcam at the top of the screen, and some even feature a touchscreen display. In most cases, unlike tablet computers which run on mobile operating systems, laptops tend to run on desktop operating systems, which were originally developed for desktop computers.
Laptops can run on both AC power and rechargable battery packs and can be folded shut for convenient storage and transportation, making them suitable for mobile use. Laptops are used in a variety of settings, such as at work (especially on business trips), in education, for playing games, web browsing, for personal multimedia, and for general home computer use.
The word laptop, modeled after the term desktop (as in desktop computer), refers to the fact that the computer can be practically placed on the user's lap; while the word notebook refers to most laptops sharing a form factor with paper notebooks. As of 2024, in American English, the terms laptop and notebook are used interchangeably; in other dialects of English, one or the other may be preferred. The term notebook originally referred to a type of portable computer that was smaller and lighter than mainstream laptops of the time, but has since come to mean the same thing and no longer refers to any specific size.
Laptops combine many of the input/output components and capabilities of a desktop computer into a single unit, including a display screen (usually 11–17 in or 280–430 mm in diagonal size), small speakers, a keyboard, and a pointing device (namely compact ones such as touchpads or pointing sticks). Most modern laptops include a built-in webcam and microphone, and many also have touchscreens. Hardware specifications may vary significantly between different types, models, and price points.
Design elements, form factors, and construction can also vary significantly between models depending on the intended use. Examples of specialized models of laptops include 2-in-1 laptops, with keyboards that either be detached or pivoted out of view from the display (often marketed having a "laptop mode"); rugged laptops, for use in construction or military applications; and low-production-cost laptops such as those from the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) organization, which incorporate features like solar charging and semi-flexible components not found on most laptop computers. Portable computers, which later developed into modern laptops, were originally considered to be a small niche market, mostly for specialized field applications, such as in the military, for accountants, or traveling sales representatives. As portable computers evolved into modern laptops, they became widely used for a variety of purposes.

Upgraded from a Razer Blade 15. Loving the Cherry MX keyboard EXCEPT the “function” keys on the right. I always hit the MIC button instead of backspace, whoever thought that this was a good idea?

This is by far the best laptop I’ve owned. I opted for the maxed-out model and upgraded to the CherryMX keyboard. The SSDs are wicked fast thanks to their use of PCIe4.0. The GTX 3080 is definitely the way to go; that comes with a longer production time due to the supply restraints, but well worth the wait. I had great results on all of the benchmark tests I ran. It plays resource-heavy games with no problem. A couple of cons: the keyboard layout is a bit odd with the media controls on the right, but you get used to it. The lack of a number pad is a bit mind-boggling. There is plenty of unused space on the deck. The 330w power brick is the weight of another laptop, plan accordingly…I wish Dell would have given us a newer design like the x15 with the Alienware branding…but I know the 330w is hard to compact into that small space. Lastly, the fans are loud. If you’re planning on playing in your bedroom with your spouse sleeping, you might want to warn them =). Overall, I am VERY please with this purchase and this amazing laptop.

I’ve had this laptop for a couple of weeks now and have been impressed. I needed something that was well built with premium video cards etc, in which this machine has met all my expectations. I like having the ability to game (if time permits) when something catches my eye and this laptop allows me to do so.

Perfect in gaming and good for daily use.

All in all the x15 r1 is a really solid gaming device, played GTA V for like 2-3 hours and the temperatures at most hit only 80 degrees celsius . Performance is pretty smooth as well. Quite bummed that the speakers are on the underside of the laptop though, I wish it was mentioned more apparently in the website. I’m not sure if my battery is faulty as well(supposedly able to reach 8 hours of battery life if every battery saver mode option is used) but I have been getting 3 hours of battery life with the least power consuming options chosen.
