Chromebook (sometimes stylized in lowercase as chromebook) is a line of laptops, desktops, tablets and all-in-one computers that run ChromeOS, a proprietary operating system developed by Google.

Chromebooks are optimised for web access but also run Android apps, Linux applications, and Progressive web apps, they do not require an Internet connection. They are manufactured and offered by various OEMs.

The first Chromebooks shipped on June 15, 2011. As of 2020, Chromebook's market share is 10.8%, placing it above the Mac platform; it has mainly found success in education markets.

Since 2021, all Chromebooks receive 10 years of regular automatic updates with security patches from Google, previously it was 8 years. Chromebooks can be repurposed with other operating systems and/or used for other purposes if required.

Iron is a chemical element; it has the symbol Fe (from Latin ferrum 'iron') and atomic number 26. It is a metal that belongs to the first transition series and group 8 of the periodic table. It is, by mass, the most common element on Earth, forming much of Earth's outer and inner core. It is the fourth most abundant element in the Earth's crust, being mainly deposited by meteorites in its metallic state.

Extracting usable metal from iron ores requires kilns or furnaces capable of reaching 1,500 °C (2,730 °F), about 500 °C (932 °F) higher than that required to smelt copper. Humans started to master that process in Eurasia during the 2nd millennium BC and the use of iron tools and weapons began to displace copper alloys – in some regions, only around 1200 BC. That event is considered the transition from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. In the modern world, iron alloys, such as steel, stainless steel, cast iron and special steels, are by far the most common industrial metals, due to their mechanical properties and low cost. The iron and steel industry is thus very important economically, and iron is the cheapest metal, with a price of a few dollars per kilogram or pound.

Pristine and smooth pure iron surfaces are a mirror-like silvery-gray. Iron reacts readily with oxygen and water to produce brown-to-black hydrated iron oxides, commonly known as rust. Unlike the oxides of some other metals that form passivating layers, rust occupies more volume than the metal and thus flakes off, exposing more fresh surfaces for corrosion. Chemically, the most common oxidation states of iron are iron(II) and iron(III). Iron shares many properties of other transition metals, including the other group 8 elements, ruthenium and osmium. Iron forms compounds in a wide range of oxidation states, −4 to +7. Iron also forms many coordination complexs; some of them, such as ferrocene, ferrioxalate, and Prussian blue have substantial industrial, medical, or research applications.

The body of an adult human contains about 4 grams (0.005% body weight) of iron, mostly in hemoglobin and myoglobin. These two proteins play essential roles in oxygen transport by blood and oxygen storage in muscles. To maintain the necessary levels, human iron metabolism requires a minimum of iron in the diet. Iron is also the metal at the active site of many important redox enzymes dealing with cellular respiration and oxidation and reduction in plants and animals.

Spin or spinning most often refers to:

  • Spin (physics) or particle spin, a fundamental property of elementary particles
  • Spin quantum number, a number which defines the value of a particle's spin
  • Spinning (textiles), the creation of yarn or thread by twisting fibers together, traditionally by hand spinning
  • Spin (geometry), the rotation of an object around an internal axis
  • Spin (propaganda), an intentionally biased portrayal of something

I was hesitant about buying an ACER Spin 13 i5 8GB 128GB Chromebook as ACER is not my preferred brand. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews. I was trying to find alternative products from my preferred brands, but I was unable to match the SPEC. The product SPEC of this Chromebook is high and better than anything else at this price point … So eventually I bit the bullet and purchased the Chromebook. WOW! I am so impressed. The design and performance of this machine is outstanding.

An excellent machine that has exceeded expectations. Very easy to set up and connectivity to printers, speakers USB and external hard drives . Google play apps for Sky Go, Prime etc. all work perfectly. Speed of the Acer 713 is incredible that has consigned my Windows 10 machine to the cupboard. Although Argos might not be the obvious choice to buy a Chromebook all aspects of the purchase were faultless.

Having been a Chromebook user for as many years as they have been around, this is the best I have had yet. Super fast, never stutters, display is fantastic. Used it for normal browsing activities which is buttery smooth. Used it as a virtual windows PC with Citrix with no issues. Played games with Stadia which look great and play well. Keyboard is responsive, trackpad is good. Wish it had a fingerprint scanner but no big worry as unlocks with phone.

we bought as a replacement for another spin 713 which was broken by accident. My only disappointment is this one comes with no stylus, which the last one had. Otherwise, it’s slightly smaller for the same screen size and just as good battery, so pretty happy.

Super happy with my purchase been looking for a premium chromebook at a fair pirce (compared to other options) for a while. This is by far the best offering on the market. The reviews and research i did looking for a laptop like this are all confirmed by how great this product is. If your concerned about using a chromebook instead of a mac and Windows, dont be there is a decent program or App available on chrome os to compete with the best of them.
