Beauty is commonly described as a feature of objects that makes them pleasurable to perceive. Such objects include landscapes, sunsets, humans and works of art. Beauty, art and taste are the main subjects of aesthetics, one of the fields of study within philosophy. As a positive aesthetic value, it is contrasted with ugliness as its negative counterpart.

One difficulty in understanding beauty is that it has both objective and subjective aspects: it is seen as a property of things but also as depending on the emotional response of observers. Because of its subjective side, beauty is said to be "in the eye of the beholder". It has been argued that the ability on the side of the subject needed to perceive and judge beauty, sometimes referred to as the "sense of taste", can be trained and that the verdicts of experts coincide in the long run. This suggests the standards of validity of judgments of beauty are intersubjective, i.e. dependent on a group of judges, rather than fully subjective or objective.

Conceptions of beauty aim to capture what is essential to all beautiful things. Classical conceptions define beauty in terms of the relation between the beautiful object as a whole and its parts: the parts should stand in the right proportion to each other and thus compose an integrated harmonious whole. Hedonist conceptions see a necessary connection between pleasure and beauty, e.g. that for an object to be beautiful is for it to cause disinterested pleasure. Other conceptions include defining beautiful objects in terms of their value, of a loving attitude toward them or of their function.

The face is the front of an animal's head that features the eyes, nose and mouth, and through which animals express many of their emotions. The face is crucial for human identity, and damage such as scarring or developmental deformities may affect the psyche adversely.

A moisturizer, or emollient, is a cosmetic preparation used for protecting, moisturizing, and lubricating the skin. These functions are normally performed by sebum produced by healthy skin. The word "emollient" is derived from the Latin verb mollire, to soften.

Priming may refer to:

  • Priming (agriculture), a form of seed planting preparation, in which seeds are soaked before planting
  • Priming (immunology), a process occurring when a specific antigen is presented to naive lymphocytes causing them to differentiate either into armed effector cells or into memory cells
  • Priming (media), a cognitive process in which media information increases temporarily the accessibility of knowledge units in the memory of an individual
  • Priming (microbiology), the effect that nutrients have on the rate of organic matter decomposition.
  • Priming (psychology), a process in which the processing of a target stimulus is aided or altered by the presentation of a previously presented stimulus
  • Priming (steam locomotive), a harmful condition in which water is carried over from the boiler of a steam locomotive
  • Priming (structural) in psycholinguistics, a form of positive priming that induces a tendency to repeat or more easily process a sentence that is similar in structure to one previously presented
  • Priming beta-ketosynthase in chemistry, a domain of polyketide synthases with a thiol group on a cysteine side-chain
  • The process by which a pump is filled with fluid and made able to operate
  • Priming the pump or economic stimulus, attempts to use monetary or fiscal policy to stimulate the economy
  • Priming sugar or glucose, a simple monosaccharide found in plants

Ulta may refer to:

  • Ulta (mountain), a mountain in Peru
  • Ulta Beauty, a chain of beauty stores in the United States
  • Ulta people, indigenous ethnic group in Siberia and Japan
    • Ulta language, language of the Ulta people
  • Ulta (film), a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language comedy drama film

Vitamins are organic molecules (or a set of closely related molecules called vitamers) that are essential to an organism in small quantities for proper metabolic function. Essential nutrients cannot be synthesized in the organism in sufficient quantities for survival, and therefore must be obtained through the diet. For example, vitamin C can be synthesized by some species but not by others; it is not considered a vitamin in the first instance but is in the second. Most vitamins are not single molecules, but groups of related molecules called vitamers. For example, there are eight vitamers of vitamin E: four tocopherols and four tocotrienols.

The term vitamin does not include the three other groups of essential nutrients: minerals, essential fatty acids, and essential amino acids.

Major health organizations list thirteen vitamins:

  • Vitamin A (all-trans-retinols, all-trans-retinyl-esters, as well as all-trans-β-carotene and other provitamin A carotenoids)
  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
  • Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)
  • Vitamin B3 (niacin)
  • Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)
  • Vitamin B7 (biotin)
  • Vitamin B9 (folic acid and folates)
  • Vitamin B12 (cobalamins)
  • Vitamin C (ascorbic acid and ascorbates)
  • Vitamin D (calciferols)
  • Vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols)
  • Vitamin K (phylloquinones, menaquinones, and menadiones)

Some sources include a fourteenth, choline.

Vitamins have diverse biochemical functions. Vitamin A acts as a regulator of cell and tissue growth and differentiation. Vitamin D provides a hormone-like function, regulating mineral metabolism for bones and other organs. The B complex vitamins function as enzyme cofactors (coenzymes) or the precursors for them. Vitamins C and E function as antioxidants. Both deficient and excess intake of a vitamin can potentially cause clinically significant illness, although excess intake of water-soluble vitamins is less likely to do so.

All the vitamins were discovered between 1913 and 1948. Historically, when intake of vitamins from diet was lacking, the results were vitamin deficiency diseases. Then, starting in 1935, commercially produced tablets of yeast-extract vitamin B complex and semi-synthetic vitamin C became available. This was followed in the 1950s by the mass production and marketing of vitamin supplements, including multivitamins, to prevent vitamin deficiencies in the general population. Governments have mandated the addition of some vitamins to staple foods such as flour or milk, referred to as food fortification, to prevent deficiencies. Recommendations for folic acid supplementation during pregnancy reduced risk of infant neural tube defects.

I received the Vitamin Enriched Face Base to try out. I’ve heard so many good things about Bobby Brown but I hadn’t tried any of the products I was excited that I was sent their Face Base. I always use primer before I put my makeup on and I’m always looking for a new one to try I really liked this one it smells so good because of the vitamin C and it makes my skin so smooth and a little bit goes a long way but the only problem is that I wish it came in a bigger jar I would hate to have to pay alot of money just for that size

This is the holy grail product for me. It hydrates wonderfully; it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin; and it calms breakouts. With or without a primer over it, your foundation will never break or shift.

I bought the travel size and had it sitting in my vanity drawer for awhile before I decided to use it!!! I will never be without this product. It really makes my 56 year old dry skin glow. I take care of my skin but with age my pores appear larger. This almost makes them non existent!! I was in shock when after checking my makeup in my simple human magnifying mirror! My makeup literally still looked good after 12 hours of wear. I always have dry patches and my makeup would always break up- which didn’t happen with this amazing product. It’s worth every $$!! I always put it on as my last step and let it soak in for about 10-15 min then apply my foundation. Don’t hesitate to try this!! I picked up the bigger size today for the sale. I may just order another one at this price.

I’ve been obsessed with this moisturizer since the first time I tried it. I’m getting two today because it’s half price! Hooray. The smell is right up there with the way it makes my skin look. I don’t wear makeup but it’s still the moisturizer I like to use in the morning I will alternate it w Sunday Riley ceo moisturizer or sometimes mix them. But I always look forward to using this and it will always be in my routine, one way or another!

Ridiculously expensive but worth every penny!! I have spent sooooo much money and time at Ulta the staff knew me by name! I have spent THOUSANDS trying to find a primer and foundation that worked for me. I have huge pores and for the life of me couldn’t find the right products. I purchased this primer on a beauty steal because I couldn’t part with that amount of money otherwise, and let me tell you….the very first time I applied it, I was sure I once again wasted more money on another epic failure. It’s consistency is lighter than my moisturizer and I was sure it would only assist my foundation in sliding all around my face and I would just wipe it all off and settle with using my concealer to spot check. But that’s not what happened! It actually held my foundation and filled in my pores (I’m talking huge pores that my face mask seemed to be afraid to be sucked into so when it dried you could see every single pore) making my face looking like a smooth canvas like they do in commercials or using a filter! I have tried ALL primers cheap and expensive but this was it. I hate that this helped me so well for the price I will have to pay for it when I need more. I’m not a paid influencer or work for the company to help promote. I work 8-5 M-F in healthcare with kids in NY. I’m poor as 💩. But if I can help another person that struggled the way I did and save them ALOT of money trying everything else like I did, it’s worth it. Good things need to be shared amongst us all because we all deserve it! The only attention I want from this is from the manufacturer/creator/owner to make this affordable. If you are still unsure, get a sample and I promise you will never use anything else again. You’re welcome!!

LOVE THIS!! I tried this a few years back and liked it then. Switched to a dermatologist brand. I am back full swing to Bobbi Brown Vitamin EFB and LOVE this all over again. My 60 year old skin drinks it up each morning before I put on my foundation. It’s the best ever and my makeup looks perfect and last all day. And to me the fragrance is dreamy like I am getting a facial every morning. *I grew up on an Orange farm so I love this fresh fragrance * The price may be steep but a little goes along way.
