Albany, derived from the Gaelic for Scotland, most commonly refers to:

  • Albany, New York, the capital of the State of New York and largest city of this name
  • Albany, Western Australia, a port city in the Great Southern region

Albany may also refer to:

In meteorology, a cloud is an aerosol consisting of a visible mass of miniature liquid droplets, frozen crystals, or other particles suspended in the atmosphere of a planetary body or similar space. Water or various other chemicals may compose the droplets and crystals. On Earth, clouds are formed as a result of saturation of the air when it is cooled to its dew point, or when it gains sufficient moisture (usually in the form of water vapor) from an adjacent source to raise the dew point to the ambient temperature.

Clouds are seen in the Earth's homosphere, which includes the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere. Nephology is the science of clouds, which is undertaken in the cloud physics branch of meteorology. There are two methods of naming clouds in their respective layers of the homosphere, Latin and common name.

Genus types in the troposphere, the atmospheric layer closest to Earth's surface, have Latin names because of the universal adoption of Luke Howard's nomenclature that was formally proposed in 1802. It became the basis of a modern international system that divides clouds into five physical forms which can be further divided or classified into altitude levels to derive ten basic genera. The main representative cloud types for each of these forms are stratiform, cumuliform, stratocumuliform, cumulonimbiform, and cirriform. Low-level clouds do not have any altitude-related prefixes. However mid-level stratiform and stratocumuliform types are given the prefix alto- while high-level variants of these same two forms carry the prefix cirro-. In the case of stratocumuliform clouds, the prefix strato- is applied to the low-level genus type but is dropped from the mid- and high-level varients to avoid double-prefixing with alto- and cirro-. Genus types with sufficient vertical extent to occupy more than one level do not carry any altitude-related prefixes. They are classified formally as low- or mid-level depending on the altitude at which each initially forms, and are also more informally characterized as multi-level or vertical. Most of the ten genera derived by this method of classification can be subdivided into species and further subdivided into varieties. Very low stratiform clouds that extend down to the Earth's surface are given the common names fog and mist, but have no Latin names.

In the stratosphere and mesosphere, clouds have common names for their main types. They may have the appearance of stratiform veils or sheets, cirriform wisps, or stratocumuliform bands or ripples. They are seen infrequently, mostly in the polar regions of Earth. Clouds have been observed in the atmospheres of other planets and moons in the Solar System and beyond. However, due to their different temperature characteristics, they are often composed of other substances such as methane, ammonia, and sulfuric acid, as well as water.

Tropospheric clouds can have a direct effect on climate change on Earth. They may reflect incoming rays from the Sun which can contribute to a cooling effect where and when these clouds occur, or trap longer wave radiation that reflects back up from the Earth's surface which can cause a warming effect. The altitude, form, and thickness of the clouds are the main factors that affect the local heating or cooling of the Earth and the atmosphere. Clouds that form above the troposphere are too scarce and too thin to have any influence on climate change. Clouds are the main uncertainty in climate sensitivity.

Kova may refer to:

  • KOVA, the original callsign of KFYV
  • Kava, Iran, romanized as Kova
  • Kovu, a character in the Lion King franchise, pronounced as Kova

A park is an area of natural, semi-natural or planted space set aside for human enjoyment and recreation or for the protection of wildlife or natural habitats. Urban parks are green spaces set aside for recreation inside towns and cities. National parks and country parks are green spaces used for recreation in the countryside. State parks and provincial parks are administered by sub-national government states and agencies. Parks may consist of grassy areas, rocks, soil and trees, but may also contain buildings and other artifacts such as monuments, fountains or playground structures. Many parks have fields for playing sports such as baseball and football, and paved areas for games such as basketball. Many parks have trails for walking, biking and other activities. Some parks are built adjacent to bodies of water or watercourses and may comprise a beach or boat dock area. Urban parks often have benches for sitting and may contain picnic tables and barbecue grills.

The largest parks can be vast natural areas of hundreds of thousands of square kilometers (or square miles), with abundant wildlife and natural features such as mountains and rivers. In many large parks, camping in tents is allowed with a permit. Many natural parks are protected by law, and users may have to follow restrictions (e.g. rules against open fires or bringing in glass bottles). Large national and sub-national parks are typically overseen by a park ranger. Large parks may have areas for canoeing and hiking in the warmer months and, in some northern hemisphere countries, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in colder months. There are also amusement parks that have live shows, fairground rides, refreshments, and games of chance or skill.

Sectional or Sectionals may refer to:

  • Sectionals, or sectional rehearsals, rehearsals for a single orchestral section
  • Sectional, or sectional couch, an item of furniture
  • "Sectionals" (Glee), a 2009 episode of the TV series Glee

Soft may refer to:

  • Softness, or hardness, a property of physical materials

We love that we can reconfigure this couch to a longer version without the middle piece if we have company over. It’s so great for our family of four but could be awkward if you have people over because you are really climbing in and out of it how it’s shown.

Very happy with our Kova Pit so far – it was worth the wait. Rust color is beautiful, gives color to the room but is neutral. It is former than expected, but still very comfortable. It does need to be fluffed weekly to maintain its shape – but I don’t mind it.

I’ll be honest, it was a very long wait from purchase to delivery. About 4 months, but I knew it would be 3 or so when I ordered. When I received the sofa and began unboxing I worried that I’d made a huge mistake. I’ve never spent this much on a couch before and upon unboxing the sofa seemed very flat and unappealing. I’ll also mention that the color & pattern is a little off from the photos online. I’m sure it’s because the photos are taken from further away, but I was a little worried. I put it together anyway (very easy to assemble) and it started to come together. The cushions made a sort of plastic-y sound at first when sat on but once I fluffed them up (by pulling on the front and back and sort of hitting them) that sound went away. This is a really big sofa-my whole family of 7 can fot comfortably and the kids think it’s the coolest thing ever. As the first day or two passed the cushions fluffed up even more. Now I have to flatten them when I straiten them because they’re so fluffy! I got the charcoal color and it’s pretty dark. A mix of black & white “speckles” but mostly a charcoal grey with a sort of olive undertone. The sofa doesn’t look olive green or anything but it has a tinge of olive tint in the charcoal threaded parts of it. Atleast to my eye. From a few feet back it’s not as noticeable as when you’re up close. If you have children this couch (the side and back cushions) will require alot of straitening which isn’t a big deal. I just adjust them everytime I straiten the living room up, it only takes a minute. We keep ours separated into two sofas unless we’re all watching a movie or something. And finally, this is THE MOST comfortable couch I’ve ever sat on! It wasn’t the first day no doubt but like I mentioned before-within the first couple days it really fluffed up and became 10x more comfy. Everytime I lounge on it, it makes me sleepy. My kids always ask to sleep on it and even my toddler has claimed it as his new nap spot. I also love the support and warranty that Albany Park offers. They have wonderful customer service and I feel better about spending such a large amount on a couch knowing they’ll replace a part or section if something happens or it is defective in any way.
I should also add, for all of you with small children that are allowed to snack in the living room, the fabric is very easy to clean and wipe off. So far we’ve had an apple juice spill, yogurt pouch and cheeto dust tragedies and everytime I panicked for no reason. The juice sort of just ran right off, the applesauce didn’t soak in and the cheeto dust wiped right off with a warm rag. If you’re in the market sor a family size sofa and you can wait a few months I highly suggest this one! I do wish I would have gotten the lighter grey but I was worried about staining and I am happy with the charcoal color. When put together the couch looks very modern, expensive and luxurious. Paired with a few throw pillows and a knitted throw its an IG dream come true. I’ll include a close up of the fabric in bright lighting! Read Less
