Leather is a strong, flexible and durable material obtained from the tanning, or chemical treatment, of animal skins and hides to prevent decay. The most common leathers come from cattle, sheep, goats, equine animals, buffalo, pigs and hogs, and aquatic animals such as seals and alligators.
Leather can be used to make a variety of items, including clothing, footwear, handbags, furniture, tools and sports equipment, and lasts for decades. Leather making has been practiced for more than 7,000 years and the leading producers of leather today are China and India.
Critics of tanneries claim that they engage in unsustainable practices that pose health hazards to the people and the environment near them.
A pebble is a clast of rock with a particle size of 4–64 mm (0.16–2.52 in) based on the Udden-Wentworth scale of sedimentology. Pebbles are generally considered larger than granules (2–4 mm (0.079–0.157 in) in diameter) and smaller than cobbles (64–256 mm (2.5–10.1 in) in diameter). A rock made predominantly of pebbles is termed a conglomerate. Pebble tools are among the earliest known man-made artifacts, dating from the Palaeolithic period of human history.
A beach composed chiefly of surface pebbles is commonly termed a shingle beach. This type of beach has armoring characteristics with respect to wave erosion, as well as ecological niches that provide habitat for animals and plants.
Inshore banks of shingle (large quantities of pebbles) exist in some locations, such as the entrance to the River Ore, England, where the moving banks of shingle give notable navigational challenges.
Pebbles come in various colors and textures and can have streaks, known as veins, of quartz or other minerals. Pebbles are mostly smooth but, dependent on how frequently they come in contact with the sea, they can have marks of contact with other rocks or other pebbles. Pebbles left above the high water mark may have growths of organisms such as lichen on them, signifying the lack of contact with seawater.

I have a bad back and have to be careful with having a heavy bag to carry. Loved everything about it but the weight.

I have purchased 6 Dooney & Bourke Bags from QVC. I have given 3 as gifts. I’m keeping this one for myself. I absolutely love it!!! My Christmas gift to myself.

The leather and appearance of this bag is gorgeous. Wish the top zipper was larger as the opening is tight to get my wallet in and out of the bag. I use a very small wallet as I don’t like a lot of weight in my purse. Like the pockets inside for organization, but LUG has better options for that. Overall very happy with this bag.

I ordered the Mustard color and it is very rich and pretty. My problem is that it doesn’t open enough for me. I generally like the hobo type bags because they open up so widely that I can see everything inside. The opening on this bag is just too narrow for me so I’m sending this one back.
