Cocoon may refer to:

  • Cocoon (silk), a pupal casing made by moth caterpillars and other insect larvae

A mattress is a large, usually rectangular pad for supporting a lying person. It is designed to be used as a bed, or on a bed frame as part of a bed. Mattresses may consist of a quilted or similarly fastened case, usually of heavy cloth, containing materials such as hair, straw, cotton, foam rubber, or a framework of metal springs. Mattresses may also be filled with air or water.

Mattresses are usually placed on top of a bed base which may be solid, as in the case of a platform bed, or elastic, such as an upholstered wood and wire box spring or a slatted foundation. Popular in Europe, a divan incorporates both mattress and foundation in a single upholstered, footed unit. Divans have at least one innerspring layer as well as cushioning materials. They may be supplied with a secondary mattress or a removable "topper". Mattresses may also be filled with air or water, or a variety of natural fibers, such as in futons. Kapok is a common mattress material in Southeast Asia, and coir in South Asia.

The shipping was very fast, the packaging was great, and everything was in tack well. This was my first bed in a box so, I was kind of in disbelief about how good the mattress would be. As soon as I cut the plastic, the bed started to grow. The bed is very comfortable and definitely what I needed. I no longer wake up aching with discomfort as I did once before. My pressure points are getting much-needed relief each night. I always use a mattress cover, so I’m not sure how cooling the bed actually is. Overall, it was a great buy and I would recommend it.

I purchased the Cocoon Chill Hybrid mattress during the Memorial Day sale, and I LOVE it! I had previously been sleeping on a Sealy Posturepedic plush mattress. It was a nice mattress, but it was old and needed to be replaced. I was a little hesitant to buy a mattress online without laying on it first, but after reading the reviews I decided to try it. Boy am I glad I did! I do not like a firm mattress, but I don’t like really soft ones either. (My Sealy plush mattress was a hand me down.) In my opinion, this mattress is right in the middle between plush and firm. It has way more support than my old Sealy plush mattress, and it really does conform to your body’s sleep positions. I didn’t have any problems getting it out of the box or setting it up. When you open it, make sure the frame you’re going to use is ready to go instantly. It came out of the box and started inflating before I could get it completely on the frame! You will need 2 people to set it up and put it on the frame. It is heavier than it looks! You can put it on any frame, which I like! I didn’t want to have to buy a separate frame! My parents have a Sleep Number bed, and I think it’s safe to say that my Cocoon Chill is just as comfortable. If you wanted to adjust the bed up or down, you’d just buy a frame to do that! You’d save yourself at least $3,000 and can return it if you aren’t satisfied for any reason. You do NOT have to try and mail it back to Sealy. Sealy will arrange to pick it up from your house should you choose not to keep it. It’s a win win in my opinion!
