Re-engineered to deliver 50% cleaner air*

Dyson’s most advanced filtration system combines a precise, solid-state formaldehyde sensor with a unique catalytic filter that continuously destroys formaldehyde.¹ An activated carbon filter removes gases and odors and a HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size. And Dyson purifiers have powerful Air Multiplier™ technology to purify and heat the whole room.²

Senses and reports, automatically

Integrated sensors constantly analyze your air, while our unique algorithm cross-checks data every second. It diagnoses pollutants at a molecular level, displaying live results on the LCD.

Captures gases and ultrafine particles

The HEPA filter captures 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size. A layer of activated carbon also removes odors and gases including VOCs.

Destroys formaldehyde, continuously

The Dyson catalytic filter continuously traps and breaks down formaldehyde molecules¹ into water and CO₂. And it never needs replacing.

Purifies the whole room

Only Dyson purifiers have Air Multiplier™ technology. It generates the circulation power to draw even distant pollutants into the machine, projecting purified air throughout the room.²

Fully sealed to HEPA H13

In our latest purifiers, it’s not just the filter that meets HEPA H13 standard, it’s the whole machine.³ So what goes inside, stays inside.

Precisely detects formaldehyde

Our latest purifiers use a solid-state sensor to detect formaldehyde molecules 500 times smaller than 0.3 microns and maintains precision for the lifetime of the machine.

Formaldehyde ( for-MAL-di-hide, US also fər-) (systematic name methanal) is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2O and structure H−CHO, more precisely H2C=O. The compound is a pungent, colourless gas that polymerises spontaneously into paraformaldehyde. It is stored as aqueous solutions (formalin), which consists mainly of the hydrate CH2(OH)2. It is the simplest of the aldehydes (R−CHO). As a precursor to many other materials and chemical compounds, in 2006 the global production of formaldehyde was estimated at 12 million tons per year. It is mainly used in the production of industrial resins, e.g., for particle board and coatings. Small amounts also occur naturally.

Formaldehyde is classified as a carcinogen and can cause respiratory and skin irritation upon exposure.

Gold is a chemical element; it has symbol Au (from Latin aurum) and atomic number 79. In its pure form, it is a bright, slightly orange-yellow, dense, soft, malleable, and ductile metal. Chemically, gold is a transition metal, a group 11 element, and one of the noble metals. It is one of the least reactive chemical elements, being the second-lowest in the reactivity series. It is solid under standard conditions.

Gold often occurs in free elemental (native state), as nuggets or grains, in rocks, veins, and alluvial deposits. It occurs in a solid solution series with the native element silver (as in electrum), naturally alloyed with other metals like copper and palladium, and mineral inclusions such as within pyrite. Less commonly, it occurs in minerals as gold compounds, often with tellurium (gold tellurides).

Gold is resistant to most acids, though it does dissolve in aqua regia (a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid), forming a soluble tetrachloroaurate anion. Gold is insoluble in nitric acid alone, which dissolves silver and base metals, a property long used to refine gold and confirm the presence of gold in metallic substances, giving rise to the term 'acid test'. Gold dissolves in alkaline solutions of cyanide, which are used in mining and electroplating. Gold also dissolves in mercury, forming amalgam alloys, and as the gold acts simply as a solute, this is not a chemical reaction.

A relatively rare element, gold is a precious metal that has been used for coinage, jewelry, and other works of art throughout recorded history. In the past, a gold standard was often implemented as a monetary policy. Gold coins ceased to be minted as a circulating currency in the 1930s, and the world gold standard was abandoned for a fiat currency system after the Nixon shock measures of 1971.

In 2020, the world's largest gold producer was China, followed by Russia and Australia. As of 2020, a total of around 201,296 tonnes of gold exist above ground. This is equal to a cube, with each side measuring roughly 21.7 meters (71 ft). The world's consumption of new gold produced is about 50% in jewelry, 40% in investments, and 10% in industry. Gold's high malleability, ductility, resistance to corrosion and most other chemical reactions, as well as conductivity of electricity have led to its continued use in corrosion-resistant electrical connectors in all types of computerized devices (its chief industrial use). Gold is also used in infrared shielding, the production of colored glass, gold leafing, and tooth restoration. Certain gold salts are still used as anti-inflammatory agents in medicine.

Purifier(s) may refer to:

  • Air purifier, a device that filters pollution out of the air
  • Water purification, removing contaminants from water, sometimes using a water purifier
  • The Purifiers, a 2004 action film
  • Purifiers (Marvel Comics), a fictional terrorist organization

White is the lightest color and is achromatic (having no hue). It is the color of objects such as snow, chalk, and milk, and is the opposite of black. White objects fully reflect and scatter all the visible wavelengths of light. White on television and computer screens is created by a mixture of red, blue, and green light. The color white can be given with white pigments, especially titanium dioxide.

In ancient Egypt and ancient Rome, priestesses wore white as a symbol of purity, and Romans wore white togas as symbols of citizenship. In the Middle Ages and Renaissance a white unicorn symbolized chastity, and a white lamb sacrifice and purity. It was the royal color of the kings of France as well as the flag of monachist France from 1815 to 1830, and of the monarchist movement that opposed the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War (1917–1922). Greek temples and Roman temples were faced with white marble, and beginning in the 18th century, with the advent of neoclassical architecture, white became the most common color of new churches, capitols, and other government buildings, especially in the United States. It was also widely used in 20th century modern architecture as a symbol of modernity and simplicity.

According to surveys in Europe and the United States, white is the color most often associated with perfection, the good, honesty, cleanliness, the beginning, the new, neutrality, and exactitude. White is an important color for almost all world religions. The pope, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, has worn white since 1566, as a symbol of purity and sacrifice. In Islam, and in the Shinto religion of Japan, it is worn by pilgrims. In Western cultures and in Japan, white is the most common color for wedding dresses, symbolizing purity and virginity. In many Asian cultures, white is also the color of mourning.

This is really an amazing purification system – it is not a FAN. It does blow some air but to call it a fan would be a mistake. We have other purifiers but this one really makes a difference.

I live in Central California – smoggy and wildfires. I love that I can track the various pollutants. It does a great job at purifying the air quickly. It also helps me to see which cleaning products I’m using are toxic. I had no idea how many things have formaldehyde in them. This is the second Dyson air purifier that I have. I bought the last version a year ago and it’s in my bedroom now. Highly recommend. Worth the cost. Love the app as well.

We were experiencing air quality over 400 due to wildfires in Northern California. I got online and reviewed the different Dyson air purifiers available at Best Buy. I settled on an HP-09 even though it was quite expensive because my wife was struggling with the air quality. After ordering it, I drove 1-1/2 hours to pick it up. Upon reaching the Best Buy store, I called them to let them know I had arrived for curbside pick up. Within about 4 minutes the associate brought the unit out, verified my purchase information and placed it in my trunk.

After arriving back at our home I set the unit up in about 15 minutes (most of that time was reading directions) and had it running quickly. I would suggest carefully following directions for installing the filter cartridges or you will bend the ears locking the cartridges in. Then install the metal covers. Also, be very careful to find the little remote that operates the unit unless you are using the app on your phone or pad. Note that when you are storing the remote on the top of the unit place it face down so the slight curve of the remote fits the curve at the top of the unit.

I put the unit on automatic and within a few hours the air quality in our living room was down to 20. Amazing! By the next morning most of the home was cleared up. It just keeps circulating the air until it pulls the bad air from everywhere or I guess you could move it around to different rooms.

It worked so well I drove the 2-1/2 hours to my Mom’s home and bought her one as well (and then only a hour hour drive to Best Buy this time). Just put it on automatic and it will adjust the speed up or down depending on need. Mom is now happy and at 100 years old that is important to me.

I also like the app on my iPhone and iPad (it also works with android equipment). Very detailed information on PM 2.5, PM 10, VOCs, formaldehyde and Nitrous oxides (burning natural gas or gasoline emissions). It even shows a graph of the air quality by color for different air quality levels.

The unit tells you when to change the cartridge. Replacement cartridges are very expensive (about $70.00), but we feel it is worth our health with all of these California wildfires caused by poor forest management.

I bought a dyson for all of the California wildfire smoke and it’s been a lifesaver. It reduces the particles and makes the air breathable in record time. Dyson customer service is top notch if you ever have a problem and I love how they stand behind their product. Probably the best customer service I’ve ever e periemced, I’m a customer for life!
