This washer and dryer combo was a lifesaver for us. We recently moved into a house where we needed the stacked washer and dryer to fit in am opening only 71″ tall. There aren’t many options if you encounter this kind of restriction and we were so thankful that LG had a solution. Overall, this machine leaves our clothes smelling fresh and perfectly dry. It’s a quiet unit and looks great. Honestly, some of the reviews I’ve read about these machines are just downright hilarious: “The washer is small and doesn’t hold as much as a commercial washer,” or, “The wash cycle takes forever,” or “There are too many features on this machine and it’s confusing,” etc. Okay, so, all statements are true, but LG didn’t try to hide any of these facts. It’s advertised as a “Compact Smart” washer and dryer. It’s meant for being installed where space is lacking. It holds up to 2.4 cubic feet of clothing which is significantly less if you’re used to using a commercial washer or a home machine that has the more standard 4.5 cubic foot capacity or larger. It’s a Smart Washer (and dryer). It calculates the correct amount of time your clothes need to be washed (or dried) based on the weight of the load it’s washing (or drying). You can download and customize your own washing and drying settings. The hefty manuals included will tell you how to do so, but for those of us that don’t have the patience or know-how, the presets and touch screen panel are very intuitive and easy to operate. Some tips: Get some pros to install this. If you purchase both machines, it will include the mounting brackets. Further, they’ll level the unit(s) correctly ensuring proper drainage. You want faster wash and dry cycles? Wash and dry smaller laundry loads. Do not overload the machines – they will not wash or dry optimally (and you could end up breaking the machine). We are a family of three (3), the youngest being 7 and generally have a half a dozen loads of laundry each week that includes our clothes, sheets and towels. Having the unit linked to our phones to let us know when wash or drying is complete has been super helpful. This is a great unit if you understand the parameters of what it offers.

Purchased a month ago and we have been fairly happy with the performance. The quick wash cycle is very efficient, and overall does a nice job of cleaning even with heavy loads. The spin cycle is amazingly silent and there is no shudder. The drum does tend to stay too wet and it is strange not being able to see through the glass door because it is overly tinted. Still, a good buy.
