Overall I’m happy with this map, but Legos math is off on this one. This set uses 10,736 pieces if you follow the instructions, with 80 markers( 40 cones plus a matching smooth stud that’s the same as all the other nine). I had 1,322 loose studs left over at the end of this project, so in reality my box officially had 12,058 pieces in an advertised set of 11,695. The set looks great, my only negative is there isn’t a compass or legend to explain the ocean topography or the markers and their meanings. Also, don’t follow the instructions on where to place the wall hangers, they are not set to 16”, more like 17”, this really needs to be mounted to studs it’s really heavy.

I am so glad I decided to purchase this set! I love the color scheme of the ocean. I also like the dark blue mixed in with the white, it makes the land pop out in a unique way. The build was fun, at times it was a little tiring, but at the end it all paid off! The map when completed seems a bit floppy, and sometimes I am afraid of it breaking, but it really isn’t a big problem. I so enjoyed the soundtrack that you can listen to while you build, (FYI the soundtrack is not music, but kind of like a podcast about the set). I haven’t yet customized it, but I look forward to it!! This is overall such a good set to look at or play around with, or whatever you want to do with it. It is definitely worth the money if you’re thinking about buying this set. Thank you LEGO so much for such an exciting build, and such an amazing display!
