Spending the day in the sun and having fun is as simple as kids having a place to do activities. The backyard is the perfect place to set up a play area for the kids. Central to that play area should be the Backyard Discovery® Oceanview Cedar Swing Set. Known for their quality, the Oceanview swing set is the centerpiece to a great back yard.

Whether you have one child or more, backyard swing sets are a must. Assembling them is easy with the right tools and shouldn’t take more than a weekend’s work with a couple of friends helping. Wooden swing sets are durable, not only will they last for you, but for grandchildren as well.

How Do You Select a Location for a Backyard Discovery Oceanview Cedar Swing Set?

Assembling outdoor swing sets are quite easy but will take some time. The first thing to do is find the right Oceanview cedar swing set for your yard. There should be enough space for your kids to run and play while staying safely inside the yard. Once the right swing set is selected, the next task is preparing the area in which the swing set will go.

An Oceanview wooden swing set should be located at least 3 feet away from any unmovable fixture. These areas include fences, the house itself, trees and other structures like sheds. Once the right spot has been found, make sure the area itself is level. There may be some landscaping needed to level a surface, but once the area is leveled the swing set is ready to be installed. Consider cordoning off the area with railroad ties or another type of border.

What are Some Tips for Assembling a Backyard Discovery Oceanview Cedar Swing Set?

The first tip is to be patient. An outdoor swing set and playground is intricate to install but the good news is with some patience you will get through the details. It is best to keep the instructions nearby so you can refer to them. Unless you are a pro, the instructions will be needed often.

A great thing to do is get about a dozen bins of various sizes so you can put different parts in these bins. The bins should be for hardware. When it comes to the wood, make sure to have the wood pieces either labeled or separated based on the types of pieces they are. Being organized makes the process of assembling the swing set appreciably easier.

The manufacturer may say that it takes 24-48 hours to install a swing set. This is true in many cases, but for people who are not experienced in swing set installation or are especially good with tools should double the time spent on installation. This means a long weekend is the best time to install a swing set for most.

Safety on Swing Sets

Especially when the swing set is first installed, it is important to supervise children on the swing set. This will tell you if there are problems, such as bolts that might need an extra turn to be tight. As the swing set settles, check it to be sure everything is sturdy. The swing set will age, and it’s always good to do routine maintenance. This will ensure it is safe for years to come.

Make sure kids are not jumping off the swings or jumping from high places. Teach safe play so the swing set will be enjoyed for many years.

A backyard, or back yard (known in the United Kingdom as a back garden or just garden), is a yard at the back of a house, common in suburban developments in the Western world.

It is typically residential garden located at the rear of a property, on the other side of the house from the front yard. While Western gardens are almost universally based on plants, the "garden" (which etymologically may imply a shorthand of botanical garden) may use plants sparsely or not at all. Hence, the terms yard and garden are for the context of this article interchangeable in most cases.

Perfect for 10 and under-maybe somewhat older as well. I personally think frame legs could be a bit sturdier (like 4 by 4 legs instead of 2 by 4) but the family loves it and it is definitely a good playground design and sturdy enough with the provided braces so it was a good purchase.
