Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, commonly with about 12–12.5% tin and often with the addition of other metals (including aluminium, manganese, nickel, or zinc) and sometimes non-metals, such as phosphorus, or metalloids, such as arsenic or silicon. These additions produce a range of alloys that may be harder than copper alone, or have other useful properties, such as strength, ductility, or machinability.

The archaeological period in which bronze was the hardest metal in widespread use is known as the Bronze Age. The beginning of the Bronze Age in western Eurasia and India is conventionally dated to the mid-4th millennium BC (~3500 BC), and to the early 2nd millennium BC in China; elsewhere it gradually spread across regions. The Bronze Age was followed by the Iron Age starting about 1300 BC and reaching most of Eurasia by about 500 BC, although bronze continued to be much more widely used than it is in modern times.

Because historical artworks were often made of brasses (copper and zinc) and bronzes of different metallic compositions, modern museum and scholarly descriptions of older artworks increasingly use the generalized term "copper alloy" instead of the names of individual alloys. This is done (at least in part) to prevent database searches from failing merely because of errors or disagreements in the naming of historic copper alloys.

Gun metal, also known as red brass in the United States, is a type of bronze – an alloy of copper, tin, and zinc. Proportions vary but 88% copper, 8–10% tin, and 2–4% zinc is an approximation. Originally used chiefly for making guns, it has largely been replaced by steel for that purpose. Gunmetal casts and machines well, and is resistant to corrosion from steam and salt water. It is used to make steam and hydraulic castings, valves, gears, statues, and various small objects, such as buttons. It has a tensile strength of 221 megapascals (32,100 psi) to 310 megapascals (45,000 psi), a specific gravity of 8.7, a Brinell hardness of 65 to 74, and a melting point of around 1,000 degrees Celsius.

Meets all promises made and exceeds expectations. The heater function is a real plus, especially in real cold mornings. The machine is very sensitive to the way the owner programs it, and consistently works as expected. Using the cool fan at night to keep the room cool while sleeping in the winter, and then having the ability to use the remote to add heat in the morning when it’s super cold is especially convenient.

We love the monitoring and ability to cool and hear the room after a shower. Another feature we love is the smart remote integration with Siri. One feature we wish they had is the ability to interact with the heater… ie “hey Siri what is the temperature etc.

This product (HP06) delivers all that it promises. It is very well made and the heat feature is a real plus to this air purifier. I have the unit in my bedroom and in the winter, its great to have a little extra heat when I need it. I find that my allergies are clearly improved when using the unit. The night time setting is quiet. During the day, the fan has more than enough power. I now own a Dyson vacuum cleaner and two Dyson air purifiers – each product is well made and works great.

Bought the HP06 a few weeks ago and even though it’s on the expensive side, it’s worth it. Nice quality piece like other Dyson products I own. It’s very sensitive, and picks up on the slightest changes in air quality. I bought it for the heater and that works great too, provides a nice comfortable warmth to the room without being too noisy. The app makes it easy to use with phone or tablet, only thing I wanted was to be able to turn on the heater from my phone but for safety codes that is the only thing it won’t do. Another great Dyson product.

I love my heater. After purchasing the first Dyson heater that was made, the motor had died so I purchased a new one and I couldn’t be happier.

Currently there are the fires in South California. The air quality is very bad now, and my HP06 has correctly reported the air quality that got into our home – I cannot attest to the measurement but trust it to be correct, timing wise, the graph corresponds to when I could smell the pollution. The mobile app provides the Weather channel air quality report as well which is good to know (especially times like now). The air in my room where I place the HP06 is better than my other rooms as the filter is doing its job to purify the aire it circulates. I am always doubtful initially but now, after this litmus test, I am convinced it does a good job. I own several other Dyson products (4 different products now) and am convinced of Dyson’s commitment to deliver a product that performs to what they claim. Cost of a Dyson is relatively higher but reliability and durability pays off.

I received my product about a week ago, and I am thoroughly impressed with how well the air quality in my home has gone! Allergens and plus getting over the smoke from the California fires have been a problem no more. I’m going to get a second one (the “Advanced” model and not the “Cryptomic”) for my bedroom. There isn’t much ventilation in my apartment so this is most excellent! I was skeptical to purchase at first, fearing that it would live up to it’s price, but it’s proven to be good! My only gripe about it is the build quality. My “power” button on my machine is installed incorrectly and only works sometimes if you press it a certain way. Which can be frustrating when pairing your phone with the machine.

I conducted a great deal of research before purchasing this model. I chose the additional heater feature to save money in the winter months. I have spent 207 days working from home and being in my apartment most of the day. Indoor allergens and air quality definitely needed improvement and this model more than does the job! I love the app and remote control. It’s easy to use and installation of the filter was simple. I recommend this to all who spend a lot of time indoors no matter what the reason.
