I installed this one fan on our patio, and here is my thought on it. There are a few significant things to mention about this fan. 1. the quality is all right, but it is not the best. if you are looking for something budget-friendly, this is a good fan, but if you are looking for something that would last, spend a bit more money to get something better. 2. The box suggests that this fan would have a 25% faster installation. I disagree with that statement. I installed three fans today, each different type and brand, and this was not any easier than the other ones. 3. The light is not bright enough, in my opinion. 4. I do like the way it looks, though, and the fact that blads have both the black and the wood pattern, depending on what matches your house decor.

Hampton Bay products are always well made, sturdy, and high performance in my experience with the many Hampton Bay products I have used. This product is best used in a small room; e.g. a room no larger than 10 ’ x 10’. The motor is quiet, wobble-free, 3-speed reversible. It is considered a Quick Fit installation with a slide on hanger bracket. The blades are reversible; one in matte black, and the other in caramel mahogany. Most of the information is found on the box. No bulbs are required because of integrated LED Technology. Caveat: remote control is NOT included.

It is a great looking fan. We chose the wood grain side of the blades to face down but the black side against the black fan body looks really cool too. The installation was pretty simple. The best thing they did was to eliminate the blade mounting brackets. The blades screw directly into the motor assembly with 3 screws each. The holes for those screws were easily accessible too, no special tools needed. Attaching the body to the motor was simple. Remove one screw and loosen the other two. Align the body to the motor over those 2 screws then rotate the body until those 2 screws are in the smaller part of the keyholes. Install the screw you removed and tighten the other two. Mounting the light kit uses the same process. The lens just pushes in to the light kit as you align the slots and rotate slightly. The upper parts of the fan assemble as any other fan has for years. It is nice that they include a black trim ring to hide the screws at the ceiling. It runs very quietly too. It’s a great fan.

My friends installed this fan in a few hours. It looks great. It’s mounted on the ceiling of a sheltered back porch.
