A bay is a recessed, coastal body of water that directly connects to a larger main body of water, such as an ocean, a lake, or another bay. A large bay is usually called a gulf, sea, sound, or bight. A cove is a small, circular bay with a narrow entrance. A fjord is an elongated bay formed by glacial action. The term embayment is also used for related features, such as extinct bays or freshwater environments.

A bay can be the estuary of a river, such as the Chesapeake Bay, an estuary of the Susquehanna River. Bays may also be nested within each other; for example, James Bay is an arm of Hudson Bay in northeastern Canada. Some large bays, such as the Bay of Bengal and Hudson Bay, have varied marine geology.

The land surrounding a bay often reduces the strength of winds and blocks waves. Bays may have as wide a variety of shoreline characteristics as other shorelines. In some cases, bays have beaches, which "are usually characterized by a steep upper foreshore with a broad, flat fronting terrace". Bays were significant in the history of human settlement because they provided easy access to marine resources like fisheries. Later they were important in the development of sea trade as the safe anchorage they provide encouraged their selection as ports.

Beech (Fagus) is a genus of deciduous trees in the family Fagaceae, native to subtropical (accessory forest element) and temperate (as dominant element of mesophytic forests) Eurasia and North America. There are 14 accepted species in two distinct subgenera, Englerianae Denk & G.W.Grimm and Fagus. The subgenus Englerianae is found only in East Asia, distinctive for its low branches, often made up of several major trunks with yellowish bark. The better known species of subgenus Fagus are native to Europe, western and eastern Asia and eastern North America. They are high-branching trees with tall, stout trunks and smooth silver-grey bark.

The European beech Fagus sylvatica is the most commonly cultivated species, yielding a utility timber used for furniture construction, flooring and engineering purposes, in plywood, and household items. The timber can be used to build homes. Beechwood makes excellent firewood. Slats of washed beech wood are spread around the bottom of fermentation tanks for Budweiser beer. Beech logs are burned to dry the malt used in some German smoked beers. Beech is also used to smoke Westphalian ham, andouille sausage, and some cheeses.

Unfinished may refer to:

  • Unfinished creative work, a work which a creator either chose not to finish or was prevented from finishing.

A wall is a structure and a surface that defines an area; carries a load; provides security, shelter, or soundproofing; or, is decorative. There are many kinds of walls, including:

  • Border barriers between countries
  • Brick walls
  • Defensive walls in fortifications
  • Permanent, solid fences
  • Retaining walls, which hold back dirt, stone, water, or noise sound
  • Stone walls
  • Walls in buildings that form a fundamental part of the superstructure or separate interior rooms, sometimes for fire safety
  • Glass walls in which the primary structure is made of glass; does not include openings within walls that have glass coverings as these are windows
  • Walls that protect from oceans (seawalls) or rivers (levees)

X, or x, is the twenty-fourth letter of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ex (pronounced ), plural exes.

These cabinets are unfinished wood, and are able to accept paint or stain, EXCEPT the top and bottoms, which have some kind of Teflon-type plastic that will NOT take paint or stain. It’s difficult to sand them enough to accept a finish, and even pre-coating them with spray paint did not help. The instructions included just tell you how to install them, but tell you to refer to the manufacturer for any further instructions. I didn’t have time before I needed to install. So, we painted the cabinet fronts and sides, priming first, and then ended up putting cabinet-grade plyboard over the top and bottom, and trimming with corner moulding. That made a nice finish. Another problem was that the manufactured wood that the sides and backs are made of have a shattered edge which cannot be sanded down for painting. But, the cabinets are plenty sturdy, open and close smoothly and quietly, and have nice grade, adjustable hinges. I really love these, except for the paint issues.
